that you have to go to your session with NO MAKE UP Shock? and that they put make up on you?! tell me this isnt so, i have visions of being 'done over' as i was once by a scary EL lady in the middle of debenhams and ended up looking hideous.

please tell me its not so bad, i was hoping just to find out what colours suited !

I went with no make up (although i did put a bit of under eye concealer on, couldn't leave house without it. She said she might have to remove it if it was hard to identify my season, but it was ok). She then put on a bit of foundation and lipstick in my 'right' colours. It wasn't a scary full on makeover or anything, but quite interesting to try a really bright lipstick in my best colour.

S'true but NOBODY is seeing me without foundation or at least tinted moisturiser in winter. I declined to take my base off - it's the same colour as my skin anyway Confused

I don't think it's essential it's just so they can flog you their own products

My consultant explained that because they look for shadows/wrinkles etc when assessing which colours don't work, if you are all beautifully made up it can make it harder to spot things like that. If you're bothered you could always take a pack of face wipe and remove make up there, so you don't have to walk in bare faced.

Why would wrinkles influence what colours work on you or not? Confused

Yes my consultant told me to come without my makeup. Very scary. I haven't been out of the house without makeup for years. But I can see it helped to identify my season, to see my skin naked. In the right colours your skin looks better anyway, without makeup. As in, your wrinkles and shadows are less obvious when you have the right colours on.

She did a makeup tutorial halfway through and it was fine, just a bit of base and eyeshadow. Not too much. Lipsticks were a bit bright for my taste but still interesting.

I wore a little makeup and took a pack of wipes in my bag. kept it on while she did her chat then wiped it off for the draping.

I know its tragic but I was worried Id be in a car accident on the way there and theyd take one look at me and decide I wasnt worth saving : /
