Skincare if you are over 35

After seeing a few photos of myself recently I realise I can not kid myself any longer. It is time to break out the serious anti wrinkle creams before it is too late. I'm looking decidedly knackered and old, not at all like the twenty something I am in my dreams. Blush
Could you kindly let me in on your 'over 35 and getting a bit desperate' beauty secrets?

Can I recommend Bio-Oil as a night-time moisturiser. I started using this about 3 weeks ago (just about 3 drops massaged into clean face) and the difference in my skin is remarkable. I honestly cannot recommend this enough and it is v good value.

It's not just what you put on your skin, it's diet and lifestyle too.

Get as much sleep as you can.
Drinks loads of water, not too much alcohol.
Take your vitamins!

Keep your lips well moisturised too, I always feel I look older when my lips get dried out.

Oh, I like bio oil, I used it when I was pregnant. No stretch marks but I think that s because I was fat to start with.
Hadn't thought of using it on my face.
I am rubbish at drinking water, I can go a whole day without drinking anything, I think I am part camel.

I personally don't use expensive skincare but use:-

Soap and glory peaches and clean face wash in morning or yes to cucumbers face wash, plus scrub eg soap and glory one (scrub your face in it?) about 2 x a week. Sometimes use a mask. More often that not nuxe Rose mask for dryer skin.

Olay hydrating Aqua moisturiser in day and SPF 50 (antehliolis one by la Roche de posey right now) also bought nip + fab eye serum and try to use every morning.

Take it off at night try to use any old cleanser, toner, and micellar water then moisturise with simple night cream. Sometimes use neals yard remedies rose facial oil.

Plus eat a good diet, Fruit veggies and protein.

Would to know more options. Try to buy pixi glow tonic in M&S but it's been sold out past 3 times I've been past a M&S that stocks skincare!

What lurking says is very true, magic potions don't help only option really is Botox or face lifts.

Retinol said to be good or AHAs.

I sometimes use Vichy Aqualia if on special offer but stay out of sun, don't smoke or drink too much and sunscreen etc.

Mum and nana both used Nivea in blue pot and ponds cold cream, mum uses now some loreal revitalift.

My next purchase will be the Aldi Lacura range it's mooted a lot on MrsG&theG!

Ok, I have also been paying much more attention to my skin the last couple of years and doing loads of research. I have found out that in order to have glowy skin you need to exfoliate with either glycholic acid or use retin a as they are pretty much the only things that will make a significant difference re. Wrinkles, fine lines etc. Retin a builds collagen too from what I've read. I have also started dermaneedling which is reported to build collagen also. I would look on YouTube at these and make up your own mind. I also love Elemis pro collagen marine cream which smells lovely but more importantly seems to work. I always always wear spf 50 too. I use Ultrasun which offers both very good uvb and uva protection- you need both and most sun creams offer poor uva. They are good quality and don't look awful under make up. I use Laura Geller balance and brighten instead of a heavier liquid foundation and will never use anything else now. If I need some coverage doll 10 concealer is light weight and effective......I have discovered good skin care by watching QVC and their 30 day money back guarantee means you can take the leap and splash out occasionally risk free. Gosh sorry if I've rambled on and on......
