So tell me, why when I use hairspray do I look like I have been pulled through a hedge backwards? I thought I was meant to look glossy and fabulous but I just look daft Sad

Ae you trying to do something like fix an updo, or spray hair when it's down so it stays curled or whatever?

I use Elnett, it is invisible in the hair and brushes out. It's great. Just hold the can about 10 or 15 inches from the head and spray while swishing yourarm about so you get a fine mist all over rather than making one bit of hair all crunchy looking.

It sounds like you are putting too much on. If you just want a smoothing effect then spray your hairbrush and pass it through your hair in the direction you want your hair to sit. For an up-do, swish as above. If you are trying to use hairspray to create volume - don't! You would need a volumising spary and a hairdryer. Also, pick a hairspray that is designed to give the level of hold you want - you may have inadvertantly picked up a max strength version (which are more drying and likely to give the crispy look).

And the best way to add shine is to run hair oil through the hair = instant princess kate glossiness!! Grin

I agree with multisanti I use Elnett too it's the best I've found. I stock up when it's on 3 for 2 in Tesco. I use it for 'fixing' a style rather than creating one iyswim.

Perhaps my problem has been swishing over loose hair? I have elnett so will try your way on the hairbrush tomorrow and see what happens. It is just really weird, I am sure it never used to be this way. Ho hum1

unless u want to 'hold' your style then there really isnt any need 2 use hairspray. if its a bit of gloss ur after then u can use a shine spray of a bit of serum but i mean a tiny bit! and not directly on your roots!
