What is the word for the kind of shoes that Converse are?

I want some silver ones.

Sequinned or glittery.

Not in the slightest bit bothered about them being "real" converse.

But I can't think of the right word so it's quite hard to google.

£12 ones from New Look would have been nice, but maybe the sequins on this will hold on better or something

I'm a size 41 and would say it's actually a 7 and a half .

Converse see to agree with you :)

41 is 7 or 8 depending on the shop. I definitely can't fit into a 7 in a shop where 7=40.

a 41 is always a ladies size 8 and a mens size 7. In US sizing if you are a ladies 8 then you want a US 100 (ten). If you are a ladies 7 then you would be a US 090 (nine) and the 7.5 is US 095. Just for future reference. Smile

Not always. Clarks have a unisex Uk-EU size conversion chart, and Next say that a women's size 7 is a 41.

It's a bit bizarre, don't you think, that "7" doesn't mean the same thing? If a 41 is a 41 is a 41, but a 7 is either a 40 or 41, then that means that men's shoes are bigger than women's shoes even when they say the same number on them.

If it was always that way then it would be illogical but at least I'd know what size to order! :o

Definitely not always that way. I know as a 41 who has been told they are both 7 and 8. And at Boden for example the 8 is a 42 , which I often have to have as they have no half sizes and their 41 is a 7!

I've got the silver sequin Converse (and purple sequin plus countless other pairs!) and they are beautiful, they'll last for ages which the cheaper ones might not have - just tell yourself that. Mine are still going strong after about 3 years :)

If you were welsh, you'd call them 'daps' Grin

Trills · 19/02/2012 17:14

If they were black and slip-on and I was wearing them to do PE in primary school then I would definitely call them daps!

Thank you for telling me that they will last longer!

Now ads for converse are following me around the internets.
