Best changing bag to go with a sling

Pregnant with DC1 and thinking about the best changing bags. Hoping to use sling as much as possible but most of the bags I've seen look so bulky and hard to carry if not over a buggy's handle bars. Does anyone have any views on the best bag to wear with a sling - and do those large stylish bags get pretty cumbersome after a while in general?

Get a back-pack (either a proper changing one or a mat plus a nice non-baby one!).

With a sling, anything that goes over one shoulder will bang against your side, or ride round one way or the other, and you won't be able to wear it messenger style.

I had a proper changing bag, which I used for about 6 weeks then ditched in favour of a handbag if I took the buggy out or backpack if I was using the sling.

I love Il Tutto change bags - they sit very well on the shoulder www.iltutto.co.uk

I got a really good bag which has both a shoulder strap, backpack straps that zip out of a pocket, and a carry handle. Bought it 2nd hand though so not sure what brand it is. I would definitely recommend getting something that can be carried in several different ways though!

Whilst DS was on the front I just used a rucksack, kind of balanced the weight a bit.

Onbags are popular with babywearing types?

Just use a rucksack

Onbags seem to be the way to go...I want one but they seem to be out of stock at most places atm though. With the onbag you seem to be able to do a back carry and have the bag underneath the child's bottom. You might get some more ideas if you posted in here (slings and backpacks) too...

Definately go for a back pack with a sling. I love my Swedish Fjallraven Kanken bag...they come in loads of great colours and open right up so you don't have to be digging round the bottom of the bag. there's a website called ilovemykanken that sells them. Water proof and v rugged too.

Sorry to hijack but Kanken look like a great idea.
Hackney cabbage- is there a way to attach Kanken to a buggy easily?

I never owned a pram or buggy with either child so used the sling through the day carrying stuff for both and used either a rucksack (nice bill Amberg one) or a longchamps pliage bag as it sits well on the shoulder.

With two children I use a backpack more as shoulder bags swing round when bending down to a toddler's height

If you are using a cross-body shoulder bag, try & find one with a strap that can unfasten from the bag so that if your baby falls asleep in the sling & you don't want to wake them up, you can take it off (pulling the end of the strap under the sling) without taking the sling off.

This - and whether you can shorten the strap to fit the bag snugly against you so it doesn't swing about too much - is more important than whether the bag is actually designed as a changing bag IMO.
