Have linked a photo, can you tell me what you think of this haircut?

this is me, it is the nicest picture of me that I can find, and
this is the kind of thing I've been looking at.
What do you think?

You do know that is a wig ?

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2012 08:39

Yes, I do but am thinking of just printing it out and asking the hairdresser to cut mine into a similar style

I can't access the photo of you, but the wig hairstyle is quite nice. I think the wispy hair over the eye would annoy me and I'd probably like the hair to be a couple of inches longer, but I'm not generally a fan of short hair so probably biased. Smile

kilmuir · 17/02/2012 08:42

Can't see you

Trills · 17/02/2012 08:43

I can't see the picture of you.

I think the wig looks nice BUT you would have to shape it every morning with some kind of appliance to get it to do that curving in thing. How would the hair look if you were in a rush?

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2012 08:50

Thanks ladies.
I have put a really dodgy photo of me on my profile, was taken not long after ds2 was born, but is the only pic I have on my computer Blush

What about this

OP posts:
whyme2 · 17/02/2012 08:52

My hair is similar but shorter and it kind off falls into that shape with a little blowdrying. I think how much effort you would need to put in would depend on your hair type.

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2012 09:04

Or this the dark haired one

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 17/02/2012 09:13

My hair is not dissimilar to the wig picture and I don't have to reshape it with an appliance every morning. It looks fine. Obviously not as good as freshly-washed-and-styled but perfectly acceptable.

Peekabooooo · 17/02/2012 09:15

All are nice Silverymoon I personally would choose the second as it would probably take the least effort to maintain.

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2012 09:19

That's what I was thinking Peekabooooo but I am not as skinny as her!
Would short hair make me look really fat?
I think my favourite is the last one, and am def straying away from the first. The second one is noce and that is the colour my hair is, which matches the colour of the frames on my glasses.
Am thinking of going a bit lighter with my hair because I am very pale.

I have a chubby face and as long as I don't go much shorter than my jaw line I don't find it makes a big difference.
You could always take a picture of the 2 to your hairdressers with you to show what you would like. I'm sure they will be able to give you advice as to which would suit you most or suggest a similar alternative. Smile

ifancyashandy · 17/02/2012 11:41

I have a similar hairstyle. My hair its thick though, so it's slightly more layered. I do wash & blow dry it every day. But I like doing it!

Funny how we all percieve things differently - whilst I know my hair isn't long, I don't think of this length as being short, because the layers / front is long.

BrigitBigKnickers · 17/02/2012 11:49

I think it would depend on what sort of hair you have.

I have tried this style but my hair is so fine (and also quite curly) that it has to be washed and styled every day and even then one puff of wind and it looks like I have been pulled through a hedge backwards.

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2012 12:57

My hair's quite thin. Dead straight too but can get a bit static and fly-away.

The second one is lovely. Do you wear your glasses all the time? because if so, the second one with the slightly shorter side fringe thingie would be easier to wear than the full one of the first pic. I have similar but without the fringey bit and it just needs the straighteners running over it in the morning.

Ephiny · 17/02/2012 13:18

I have a similar style (very like the 3rd one you posted, dark-haired model), I find it quite easy to look after. I do need to blow-dry with a brush to get it a nice smooth shape, but it's easy and only takes a few minutes, and I don't need to wash/style my hair every day.

My hair is quite thick and straight though, I can see it might be more of a challenge for fine/curly hair!
