As a Avon rep of a few years for lots of Talc obsessed elder Ladies, I figured I really ought to try their skin care Hmm, influenced by my neighbour who loves the stuff and it really has appeared to do wonders with her skin.

I bought the Anew rejuvenate range and thermal lift cream too.

It's actually rather good Shock, I have noticed a really big difference, I used to use Lancôme but couldn't afford it, and find this better as it seems to suit my skin better.

Any other products out there that are assumably a bit shit, but actually quite good (and cheap) please.

Radox bubble bath - I love it!

Badedas bubble bath (v old lady) - even better than Radox.

Waitrose own brand cheapo moisturiser - makes my skin look lovely and plumped up in the morning if I put it on before bed.
Boots Natural Collection - everything costs about tuppence but there are some surprisingly good things - especially the blusher.

I loved the avon skin range and used to use the red range aimed at 40s skin even though i'm in my 30s as it was on offer more often. But my skin has got oilier so i now use the aqua moisturiser from aldi.

ChablisLover · 15/02/2012 20:21

Ah badedas - I love that stuff.

Avon skincare is fab. I also love their makeup.

Have been tempted by the minerals but not yet purchased

Honeydragon · 15/02/2012 20:22

ooooh yes we love Badedas here.

Im trying the Avon red eye & lip cream next.

I've heard others say about the natural collection blusher. Natural collection do my favourite lipstick too.

I love Badedas, it's not v old lady! But back to Avon - have just started using their Anew Clinical Microdermabrasion kit in prep for my 40th birthday party in 3 weeks. I've had it in the cupboard for a couple of years after getting it as a freebie with an order - well, it's fab! Have used twice this week (it's a 4/6 week thing) & my skin just glows after, just like I've had a facial - & is smooth as a baby's bottom :)

nail buffers & micofiber hair turbans from poundland - use them all the time and they work just as well as more expensive versions.

Honeydragon · 15/02/2012 23:22

good to know like those turbans for when I want curly hair, but they get lost far to easily. I live in a shoe box so no idea where they wind up Confused

I know - I lose them all the time too... Hmm

I'll be honest - I spend a fair bit on skincare and make-up so i don't have many other cheapie tips...

However,

I buy my hairdye from places like home bargains - always less than £4

I use a cheap olay toner after doing face masks etc - it is blue and costs about £2 a bottle from any supermarket - it means I only have to use my expensive decleor toner to finish with twice a day.

I use a very cheap bronzer from MUA - it is a make up brand in superdrug and everything is £1

I buy really cheap nail polishes from discount make up brands like MUA and natural collection then use seche vite as my topcoat - it makes any colour last a full week.

I use baby shampoo to cleam my make up brushes

Oh, and I love those exfoliator gloves you use in the shower...no need for a seperate body exfoliator or to body brush - again just £1

Honeydragon · 16/02/2012 00:03

Oooh thanks for the nail polish tip too!

I've just started using Astral Light and Creamy moisturiser and find it really good - it doesn't leave me with a shiny forehead and nose! I've used expensive moisturisers in the past and this is just as good. I've started to think that it's not the type of moisturiser you use, but just consistently using a moisturiser is the trick to unlined skin (but that's just my view) Smile Also finding coconut oil is a good body and hair moisturiser got mine from Superdrug about £2 for a small (but lasts a long time) tub of solid coconut oil which just melts in your hand and then you can just rub it in where you want.
