Oh dear God. Do I have to do this every day? Please tell me it gets easier.

Top of the class Ultrasonic - looking forward to seeing you on level 2 tomorrow! It's hard but doable, you'll be fine Smile

Ultrasonic · 17/02/2012 21:12

Nooooooo Betty !! I'm nowhere near ready! I saw those "walking press ups"and recoiled in horror!
I think I'll give it a few more days
Grin
On a plus note I did a 15 min run straight after shredding tonight.
I have ordered a shock absorber run bra too...

BettyBathroom · 17/02/2012 21:49

Those bloody press ups! I still can't do one but don't let that stop you doing level 2 - it's better work out, you'll sweat more, you'll work harder but the peaks won't feel so painful. I still can't do a lot of the plank moves but thatdoesn't matter because trying them builds the muscles too.

ssmile · 18/02/2012 09:05

Hi can I joinin. Have been doing Shred for 5weeks now normally 3x a week, but only done L2 three times find it really hard so keep losing motivation and going back to L1 but that IS getting easier so it must be working :)
I've lost 12lbs since Jan eating 1400calorires day, walking 3miles on school days and BF baby 6mths and I have found getting fitter is helping cope with exhaustion of sleepless nights but now I've had a bad halfterm fallen completely off diet, exercise, and full of cold I must remotivate myself again!

jellibelli · 18/02/2012 10:01

Ladies stick with it - it will be so worth it.

Not bragging but hoping to inspire you to continue.... Last January I was 5 ft 1 (still am!!)10 st 3 with 41in bust 31in waist and and 40in hips, and a resting pulse around 78. I started 30DS as recommended on here and did it in 31 days. I could barely complete day 1 even with soup tins instead of 'proper' weights. I was a sweaty, puce jelly at the end and the next day was very achey all over. By day four or so the aching had largely gone, by day 7 I really could notice a difference just like Jillian says. I found L2 a shock but stuck with it, pushing myself to work with Nadalee as soon as I could. L3 felt like a relief after the huge leap to L2. At the end of 30DS I faffed for a bit, then bought and
did Six week six pack in the six weeks. I then immediately started C25k and moved straight to a 10k programme.

I was amazed with the difference between a shock absorber bra and my supermarket sports bra. What an enlightenment. There was a seller on eBay who has yellowed ones for the same price as the supermarket cheapies.

Now I run with DH, have a large selection of Jillian DVDs, I do yoga and have started lifting weights. I now weigh 8 st
10, 36 bust, waist 28 and hips 35, resting pulse ~56. I feel energetic and confident. I am 44.

It all started with the shred. stick with it ladies you are doing a Good Thing.

jellibelli · 18/02/2012 10:02

PS I still struggle with press ups!

notyummy · 18/02/2012 10:14

Such a great story Jelli - don't I 'know' you from another Shred thread?!

I echo Jelli's words. If you can stick with it, it is really worth while. I have change my body shape quite a bit through exercise and am nowhere near as pear shaped as I used to be.

Good luck!

jellibelli · 18/02/2012 10:27
Ultrasonic · 18/02/2012 23:05

Wow, Jellibelli what an inspiring story, thanks for that.
ssmile your weight loss since jan is awesome!
Just to say I still also cannot manage an effective push up. Even if I try the knee version it goes wrong!
Did level one again today, think I might be day 12 or 13 tomorrow? Oh god, I'm gonna have to be brave and move up aren't I ?
They're not comin for free!

ssmile · 19/02/2012 20:06

jellibelli Fab story thanks for sharing I really need remotivating had crap half term with diet, exercise, and house full of colds plus lots chocolate birthday cake :) I need to lose another 10lbs to get out of the obese category and back to the weight I was in at my booking in appt for babe 12mths ago :( so back to Shred tom& school walk.
Thanks ultrasonic still long way to go...I'm too "weak" in body for L2 I think. My cardio is ok, but weak arms&core. Will go back to L1 tom but try increasing the weights abit more I think.

BettyKitchen · 19/02/2012 21:10

Brilliant story Jelli - very inspirational!

Ultrasonic · 19/02/2012 21:20

I'm phoning it in for a few days girls,
poorly chest, grotty cough
Sad
Cough
Cough
Cough...

BettyKitchen · 19/02/2012 21:23

NOOOO - you can't phone it in!

Hope you're back "hanging with us & fighting for it" soon.

ssmile · 20/02/2012 20:25

Hope u feel better soon ultra

I did L1 again today but did some L2 twist jumps instead of the squat punches for cardio and tried to do bicycle crunches for all the abs instead of the easier ones, I'm still shaking off my cold so felt bit cack but glad I did it.

bacon · 21/02/2012 13:21

Well I've been doing it on and off since new year. Its impossible for me to do it everyday. The best time I've found is lunch time when DS2 is in bed, I prepare before he goes down I can do DVD and have a shower before he wakes up. Have tried to do it when he's around but wants to take the disc out and pop on Tractor Ted!

On the bonus side I dont hardly ache next day anymore but wonder if I can ever move on to level 2! The worst for me is press ups (even with knees) I struggle and skipping - the skipping just kills me.

I use a full control sports bra even though I am flat chested I find it stops movement and def wear good trainers. i bought a gym mat too. Hubby bought the hand weights for my birthday as the cans were slipping out of my hand!

I follow Natalie so I'm not that bad but wonder if I'll ever have the push to move on!

I also have cut down on food, carbs (not cutting out but cutting portion) no alcohol, eating earlier.

I have lost 7Ibs since christmas weigh-in. I think its the best fitness DVD as its short and no ponsing about. Yes I'm close to heart attack but its def easier.

I'm 41, 11.5st, 5'3" , need to lose a min 2stone for my frame. I cant hide anymore I need to get slim and fit. Havent excercised properly for over 12 years!!!!

ssmile · 22/02/2012 09:29

bacon I'm very similar age&height but 15lbs heavier Blush I really want to be able to go snowboarding next year and be fit &healthy to really enjoy it. That's my big goal to get to 10st that means losing 35lbs :( . I've not been snowboarding in 5yrs since DD1 came along and now DD2 is 6mths old I've got no more excuses left!

I shred about 4x a week. I mix some of the moves from L2 into L1 so I'm doing 3/4 L1 but qtr level two until my core feels stronger. Right babe down for nap shred ere I come :)

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 23/02/2012 09:14

ssmile found you on this thread. >

L1D7, feeling good, weighed myself this morning and have lost 4lbs Shock, this is all down to shred and cutting out bread. I only used to have maybe 4 slices a week of wholemeal, so am very pleased. Hope to loose maybe another 3 then I am back to my beloved 10st, it sounds quite a lot, but at 5'8" I do feel happy with it.

I shred every day, when the 30 days are complete can you move onto alternate days?

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 24/02/2012 10:12

L1D8, done.

Had a peak at level 2 (whilst lying in the bath), and I'm terrified, how on earth can I do a jumping jack plank, I can only do 30 girl press ups?

On the plus side I do notice a difference in "abs".

ssmile · 24/02/2012 13:41

Hi boiledeggs :) I posted ere as everyone seems to have disappeared off the other thread they have done their 30days whilst I slog on......maybe we are the only ones left :o
Well I shreded today felt stronger so the cold must be on its way out even after yet another crap night up 4x with babe.
I hope to cycle tom if weather good and DH has girls for an hour.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 24/02/2012 16:15

Ssmile, have also found another thread with a few more friends of Jillian, will try and link.

Getting up in the night is a total killer, DD2 is 6 and a half and still comes into our room every night, so much so, we now have a trundle bed in our room for her to get into.
