Babyliss Big Hair - Big Mess

I bought a BBH based on all the posts on MN about how great they are. Tried it today and my hair was a great big mess. Like a freaking scarecrow. I have no doubt that it was user error. So where did I go wrong?

It wasnt smooth, it was dry at the ends not the roots and all the hair ended up going in different directions. I wish I'd have taped me using it. I was hopeless - but i thought they were foolproof...

Any tips appreciated.

(also - thanks for previous post. I posted a year ago for style advice and got great advice - introduction to phase eight changed my wardrobe. I didn't post thanks because shortly after my shopping trip found out I was pg, but pg not successful so style was out for a while - but I did appreciate the advice. Just in case anyone remembers me as the ignorant poster who didn't say thank you nicely!)

Valium I hope your hair is recovering well! I also secretly believe it was some other mysterious force that gave you all the split ends, and not my beloved BBH

I wish it was something else, my hairdresser laughed and said 'Well, what did you expect using that thing every day?!' Blush

There's a smaller barrel??? Does it come with the BBH or can you buy it seperately? I'm currently waiting on mine from Amazon but was a bit dubious about whether or not it would work on my hair as it's sorta half way between chin length and shoulder length? Here's hoping!

I got one today and really like it. I was quite pleased with the results for a first effort. I can't see why it'd cause split ends though. Surely its no harsher than blow drying and less harsh than straighteners?

I tend to use mine as it is easier to use than a dryer and brush but I think it does go flat quite quickly but looks nice initially.

hellomotoe there is a smaller barrelled one that is for shorter layers ,I think it's only sold in argos at the moment. I have both and the smaller barrelled one def gives more oomph to my chin length layered bob.

I got the smaller barrelled one last week & LOVE it Grin

Snowmummy, I tend to agree, tis no worse than what they put my air through. And yes small barrel exclusive to Argos. I think I may only take my BBH on hols, I could leave to dry naturally for a bit then just finish off with it. I am a smitten kitten. Hair looks same as when I finished it and I look groomed. This is going to be like having good hair days every day, why did I not buy this ages ago?

Poodlehorse · 15/02/2012 18:34

Also wondering about buying for my mum who as never anaged to BD and always forgets the back of her head.

hellomotoe · 15/02/2012 21:08

Thanks ggirl and Poodlehorse, think I'll cancel my Amazon order and get the smaller one from Argos

Thanks for the heads up Grin

Chicinwellies · 15/02/2012 21:36

Thank you poodlehorse and others, I am off to order the small barrelled one. Yay! Here's hoping x
