The GAP ones are called Leggings Jeans (same difference, I guess) but, s others have said, are made of decent denim and have all the typical 'jeans' styling - stitching, pockets, rivets. I too think they are superior to skinnies but only if worn with with a tunic length top.

Michelaa wrong thread, by any chance? Smile

toddlerama · 05/02/2012 17:36

If it's stretch denim and has pockets then they're just amazingly comfy skinny jeans that don't require hoiking up all the time.

In my town I have recently seen a lot of knitted argyle effect leggings. They look bloody ridiculous.

cabbageandbeans · 05/02/2012 17:44

I think making a child wear a lights and sounds ninky nonk might be considered cruelty to children? where will he put his jegs Legs? But Jeggings - they fine!

frownieface · 05/02/2012 18:40

Jeggings are ok, its the knitted legging like [[http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/300622498664?var=lv

FoofFighters · 05/02/2012 19:09

Glittertwins · 05/02/2012 19:27

On me, definitely a disaster as I am totally the wrong shape. On those lucky to have a good figure they look good.
The argyle leggings however are bloody awful. I saw a rather large female in the yesterday and have to applaud her for nerve/lack of mirrors at home

janmoomoo · 05/02/2012 20:22

I have been searching high and low for decent skinny jeans to no avail at all, anywhere. Have now found jeggings = brilliant! Yes you want the proper jeans ones. The thin ones you can practically see pants through are hideous, but I think they are just "leggings", not jeggings. And you defo need your bum covered. The best thing is if you are wearing a tunic top which I do most of the time, then you dont get a bulge where the button/zip is. And they are much more comfy than jeans which I have always found v uncomfortable. I am big fan. Bring on the jeggings I say!

ledkr · 05/02/2012 21:04

Did anyone notice that someonme just posted about getting a ninky nonker from argos? Grin

duchesse · 05/02/2012 21:31

Revolting. They actually are just footless tights that someone forgot to put a skirt over.

janpa · 05/02/2012 21:47

I love my jeggings from M&S. They are different lengths, but that doesn't matter when they are in boots

theseventhdwarf · 05/02/2012 21:51

topshop Jamies and oasis Skinnies (jeggings) are great - I love mine and I really strongly dislike Leggings mostly.

MuslinSuit · 05/02/2012 21:55

No to jeggings. But I do like knitted leggings - not patterned ones but Tesco Blush had some sort of cabley ones which I got in grey and black, were great under long tops and boots this winter.

I may have been tricked by how comfy they were though, to be fair.

CakeandRoses · 05/02/2012 21:57

ledkr i think it was some kind of clever, coded judgement on jeggings Grin

WittyTitle · 05/02/2012 22:07

WTF are treggings

FoxPass · 05/02/2012 22:17

Treggings, hmm a legging in a trouser style? Hmm

What about ski-pants in a jean material? Skeggings?

WittyTitle · 05/02/2012 22:23

so now we can just add anything to 'eggings' and it becomes a style, I propose the introduction of paj-eggings, then I can go to work in my PJs! Grin

startail · 05/02/2012 23:18

Nothing wrong with all varieties of-eggings as long as they are made of proper thickness fabric.
Thin leggings and those knitted monstrosities should not leave the house except under a skirt that covers bum and at least 50% of the thighs.
Printed Denim leggings shouldn't leave the shop ever. I'm not even keen on them on 10y DD2.

chickenpickin · 05/02/2012 23:31

great idea but I think they'll be peggins! WittyTitle

FreePeaceSweet · 05/02/2012 23:46

I'm a big girl and have 3 pairs ranging from dark blue denim to black. I love them and feel I look great in them. I always wear with a mid thigh length top and slouch boots. I have received compliments from a variety of people and if anyone has been offended by my dress sense they have been remarkably considerate and kept their feelings to themselves. (Honestly I prefer it that way) I feel a lot slimmer when wearing them too. Bonus!

WittyTitle · 05/02/2012 23:47

chicken shall we approach dragons den?

ProfCoxWouldGetIt · 06/02/2012 08:35

I am a convert to jeggings, I used to hate them, then bought a pair, and I love mine, they're basically just like skinny jeans only a lot more comfy.

I now love wearing mine with big baggy jumpers and boots

telsa · 06/02/2012 08:57

In Barnet (for some reason) I have seen really large thighed teenagers wearing some sort of black and white snowflake pattern knitted leggings that look truly terrible.

Himalaya · 06/02/2012 09:17

are they kneggings?

polyhymnia · 06/02/2012 09:45

Agree with the majority - great if they are 'real denim', not polyesterish, and only with tunics or long tops. I'm tall and large with long quite slim legs and they suit me very well too.

Only hope this look stays around for a bit. I've really stocked up on tuncis.

What I dread is return of short tops, revealing not only too much tummy but dreaded camel's toe whatever jeans/trousers you wear them with.

PostBellumBugsy · 06/02/2012 09:48

Yes, unless you are very slim. A hint of knicker line or wobble & it is a crime.
