i'm in my mid 30's and have just noticed that i'm getting rather a lot of lines appearing round my eyes. i remember an old work collegue brought in some cream it was in a little round tub and was quite expensive but when she put it on you could see her skin was tighting it was brilliant but can't remember what it was called and i'm not in contact with her now, so was rather hoping that one of you ladies might use a cream that you would highly recommend.

I don't know about any cream but I just read about something called frownies. They sound bizarre - stick on patches you use at night that stop the wrinkles. Sounds tempting. Have a look at www.frownies.co.uk if you are interested.

L'Oreals collagen filler pen (to fill out frow lines etc) is on offer at £10.99 in Superdrug. Their wrinkle decrease creams also have £3 off.

There's no such thing as a miracle lotion The only thing that really works (and then not dramatically) is moisturiser with retinol, such as RoC (but always use sun protection is you're using retinol).

I think the cream you're thinking of is one of the new types that temporarily freezes your skin, like a very mini dose of Botox. I don't know how effective it is; I'm sure they'll get more sophisticated in the coming years. The one I've seen is called freeeze (I think) and SpaceNK sell it by mail order (about sixty quid). Boots also sell a cheaper version of this (thirty quid-ish).

If you find it and think it works, do let us know!

Dermalogica Power Firm is my staple for the eye area - you use it around your lips too. And Creme de La Mer for the rest of the face. I'm no sucker for manufacturers' claims, but I swear by these 2 products.

never tried it but isn't haemorroid (spelling?) cream supposed to work?

aelita · 12/02/2006 09:26

...but neither of them are miracle lotions. Our wrinkles are a sad fact of life

www.buycosmetics.com sell a number of 'miracle' potions and lotions. i cannot give you a personal reccomandation, but maybe you can recognise the packaging on the site.

All I can say is remember to always, always wear wide sunglasses and use a decent regular eyecream morning & evening.

Hester - lovely to see you on here again!!!
