Budget body lotion?

Can anyone recommend a cheap body lotion for everyday use? My skin isn't particularly dry if I use one daily but that means I get through bottles of the stuff! My only requirements are that it sinks in quickly and doesn't leave an oily residue as it's hard enough getting my jeans over my thighs some mornings without additional resistance. I've been using the cocoa butter stuff recently as it is often cheap in bodycare but I think I've sickened myself of the smell. Thanks!

The new Garnier ones are okay- about £2- or if you can spend a bit more, I love Neutrogena- just under a £5.

I always end up going back to E45 moisturising lotion - not their 'endless moisture' range, but the classic big white clinical-looking bottle with a pump. It matches all your requirements and doesn't smell. And it works.

This one Interestingly, it's "recommended by Danielle Lineker as great for the whole family" Hmm

Thanks for quick replies. Would rather not stretch to a fiver but Garnier or E45 sounds an option. Heading to supermarket later so will see if they have either, as was going to give one of their own brands a go otherwise..

I sometimes use the DC's aqueous cream! It works really well, doesn't clash with perfumes etc as it is fragrance free, and you can get a huge tub from Boots for a couple of pounds!

snowmummy · 31/01/2012 16:46

I'd second the aqueous cream. Cheap and effective.

I buy grape seed oil online for about £7 litre. Lasts well over a year. I keep a small bottle out and large bottle in fridge.

We love the Asda ones that are about £1 (varies, sometimes 97p sometimes £1.09...) They look like the Vaseline Intensive Care bottles. Absolutely brill and smell lovely. There are 3 different ones.

The Morrisons cocoa butter one or the Aldi one. Both about £1.30 and they are great, particularly the latter.

ENormaSnob · 01/02/2012 10:02

I like the asda ones too.

if you have an Avon rep theirs are really good- the intense hydration ones (I think thats the name). The price varies but usually £2.50 for a biggish bottle and often on 3 for £5.

Boots Essentials. Around £2 and often on BOGOHP. Plain and simple and works well with my sensitive, itchy type skin.

Ooh! Hadn't checked back on this and lots of options now.. Fabulous - thanks all!

I use a Superdrug own brand body lotion with aloe vera in it, I think it is about £1.49

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 01/02/2012 21:35

The Beauty Bible recommend Garnier Hydrolock as a beauty ' steal ' body moisturiser.

OhCobblers · 01/02/2012 22:09

I've always used Nivea - generally on offer somewhere, ie, Superdrug, Sainsbos, etc.

Pinot · 02/02/2012 09:49

HipHop is right - Grape seed oil. Bargainous. Or Argan oil. Or Avocado oil.

fluffiphlox · 02/02/2012 10:46

Do Superdrug still do their big tub of Vitamin E body cream? I remember that as being quite cheap. i don't get to Superdrug these days

thenightsky · 02/02/2012 10:54

I use this one But it is even cheaper in Morrisons. Think I pay about £1.49.

missmartha · 02/02/2012 11:08

abigboydidit · 02/02/2012 19:38
