The ones where you know you'll almost always find something you like, where you buy things that you wear time and time again? Just wondering if everyone has different ones or if a lot of us have the same favourites - also want to know if I'm missing out on any great ones!

Uniqlo for jeans and cashmere stuff

Whistles
Topshop

But overall - Cos. I always come out with piles of stuff from there.

SalsyPicnic · 31/01/2012 13:41

Monsoon - great sales
Gap - always wearing something from Gap
Zara
M&S - Limited Collection gets it most right, most often

But I am pushing 40...

NoWayNoHow · 31/01/2012 13:43

I also love Zara and would probably buy more stuff in there if I didn't feel so put out by their sizes - I didn't lose 2 and a half stone to get to a size 10 just to be told by them that I'm Large!! Grin

Ooh Cos, yes, another one I always forget about due to not living near one. Thanks bigkids.

Now that they have a petite collection, Boden (online)

This thread has been brilliant shopping inspiration - thanks for all your responses! I have been getting so boring lately and only ever going to Topshop and occasionally Whistles. Think it's to do with not going shopping with big groups of friends like when I was younger.

Charity shops - cheap (in my town, at least), varied both in brand and style (I buy clothes that I'd never consider in a 'proper' shop), and as the clothes have already been through a washer, you know whether they'll wash up well.

madammecholet · 31/01/2012 13:48

tbh, I shop everywhere, but on highstreet i'll always pop into:

H&M & Zara - throw away fashion
Gap - jeans
Massimo Dutti - casual
Jaegar/LK Bennet - work stuff

Altho I am a bit of an 'independent shop' shopper, so tend to shop online or in boutiques more than the high street..

some good online fashion stops:

Great Plains - ok for basics
La Redoute - summer stuff
ASOS & ASOS Boutiques - fashion stuff
NotOnTheHighStreet - fashion section for unusual stuff
Plumo
The Pretty Dress Company
Get Cutie

CAN you buy C de Cotonniers online? Anyone know? Also Petit Bateau? We use to have an outlet here and the tshirts were brilliant. I know that they have a vast range available in France but I need online.

AWimbaWay · 31/01/2012 13:53

Anthropologie another to add to my list.

TapselteerieO · 31/01/2012 13:55

H&M for lovely everyday stuff, I bought 7 items for £55 there the other day, they have some lovely soft spotty shirts just now. It can be a hit or a miss there but I like it just now.

Zara and Gap have gone from my town, sob, but they were places I bought certain clothes (usually tops) and stuff for my dc.

I do sometimes go to RI, jersey jacket from there is one of my most regularly worn items of clothing. They can be good for jeans(though they are a bit too long for me in the shortest length), that is if you can find some that are not distressed denim.

I was once a TP fan, but it is not tempting me just now, I keep going in, but come out empty handed.

I buy Uniqlo clothes online, especially in the sale.

salamanda · 31/01/2012 13:58

What is TP tapsel?

H&M for casual
Phase Eight for dressy

SianBB · 31/01/2012 14:19

Big fan of Anthropologie.

I also love Day Birger et Mikkelsen if I'm feeling a little flush. There's a boutique that stocks it close to me but you can also buy online at net-a-porter (one of their cheaper brands!).

SianBB · 31/01/2012 14:23

Ohhh and Acne! On a roll now...

bleedingheart · 31/01/2012 14:27

H & M, Uniqlo and Zara for tops
Primark for basics (tights and tees)
ASOS for trousers and accessories
Ameko & Modalu for bags
Primark, Carvela and New Look for shoes

nicknamenotinuse · 31/01/2012 15:05

Lands' End as if you look closely they have some lovely lovely stuff. Not all frumpy and to top it off their customer service is outstanding.
