I need help planning for a trip. We are going to Eurodisney for 4 nights in Feb and I only want to take hand luggage. My usual style is far too smart and I look awful when I try to dress down. I want to look stylish but also be warm.

Parka

I don't have jeans but could buy some. Skinny Jeans with red flat shoes? I wouldn't be able to wear socks - It will be freezing?!

How about layering long sleeved tee over Short sleeves with scarves?

Capsule could be the outfit above to travel in, trousers, 2 smarter tops, red polo and 3 tees.

What do you wear?

Are skinny jeans a good idea if you aren't skinny?

I think you'll freeze in all those things you linked to.

I don't know what your budget is, but I'd be looking for ski type jackets (think HellyHanson), warm jeans that you can get woolly tights under if you need to and some decent chunky boots that fit warm thermal socks inside.

We went in Feb when it first opened and it was arctic.

Eggrules · 29/01/2012 12:38

Ah no to baltic conditions. It has been relatively mild here and I would be warm enough. I suppose the it clement weather for the time of year and it could snow. I have chunky boots and will get thermal socks and tights.

I know that ski type jackets are the most practical but I have never worn anything that casual. The parka was a big compromise on my usual coat.

I always find the Paris and its surrounding very cold in Feb so I would go for a warmer coat; boots and scarf and hat. No way could I wear shoes with out socks.

Eggrules · 29/01/2012 13:36

It's 2c here now and a predicted 4c in Paris when we go. We went last April and it was glorious - we all got a tan.

You are right though - it is typically much colder. Thermal socks in order.

I'm going to go for loads of layers - vest, long sleeved tee, polo.

Any style ideas out there for stylish but warm dressing?

Joules? loads of nice spring stuff on their website, but also lots of woolies, sweats and tweed jackets.

SparkyTGD · 29/01/2012 14:12

I like the things you've linked to, but would go for ankle boots rather than shoes.

What about a patterned cardi, this would be nice with a slightly longer black long sleeved t-shirt or polo underneath, some skinny jeans & ankle boots, big scarf.

I wear skinny/slim jeans & feel fine in them, am 14/16, slimmish legs & hips though.

Eggrules · 29/01/2012 21:29

Sparky I love that cardi so much I am off to DPs. Will try on with skinny jeans.

I have something like these. Will they go with skinny jeans?

Like Joules stuff but it looks a bit too casual. Love the gilets .

Not sure about the shoes, bit 'smart' for skinny jeans IMO.

I'd wear skinny/slim jeans with either western style boots, flat ankle boots or bit more 'fashiony'.

Thought the cardi was good Grin, think it would add a bit of style to an otherwise casual outfit, cosy but cute.

Eggrules · 30/01/2012 11:32

Sparky - off to town tomorrow now. I need that cardi.

I knew I needed help. I have boots like these too wide at the top?

OP posts:
Karbea · 30/01/2012 11:34

I think your boots would be fine.

SparkyTGD · 30/01/2012 11:57

They're fine Egg, think I was actually going to link to those boots yesterday when I suggested the cardi Grin

Eggrules · 30/01/2012 13:02

Grin no way Sparky, thanks for the confirmation Karbea

I told you I needed help. I was thinking I would need to keep the skinny theme.

I bet I have enough stuff in my wardrobe - I have no idea how to match it all.

Heat Tech jeans from uniqlo would be good, I have a dark blue pair, they are more slim/straight than skinny - they are way warmer than normal jeans, without adding bulk and layers. If they don't have them in your size, their heat tech tops are great for layering and warmth without feeling like the Michelin man.

TapselteerieO · 30/01/2012 14:47

I like the cardigan, but it is 100% cotton, so will not give you much warmth.

suebfg · 04/02/2012 21:10

I used to live there and Paris is freezing at that time of year - often colder than the UK. Wrap up really warm!

Eggrules · 05/02/2012 10:21

Thanks suebfg I have bought thermals and thick socks.

Must buy hat and warm coat and remember we will be outside most of the day.
