Getting increasingly whiskery in the chin region, neck etc... Having to tweezer every day. Dr gave me cream but it gave me awful teen- type spots. What next? I hate it.
Daren't shave like everywhere else in case I get 5 o'clock shadow.

Lazer hair removal is the way forward. If you only have a few hairs then waxing is fine but if you can feel the regrowth then it will give you a lot more peace of mind if you just lazer it. It shouldn't be so expensive just for your face but if its hormonal hair you will need to keep it maintained because it will permanently kill existing hair but some new might grow. I would get a Dr to do it as they have the strongest machines (thats what my Dr says anyway!)

I think lazer is amazing, I can't bear to think what I would look like without it Blush Grin

Have you been checked for PCOS? This can be a symptom.

Good point about PCOS. My cousin has a hairy face because of that. Its a good idea to speak to your GP about any contraception or medication you are taking that could affect hairiness and maybe get a blood test on your hormone levels. No point wasting money on lazer if you are just going to grow more hair because of an existing condition that you don't even know about. I had tests etc. and I'm just kinda hairy :)

No, I haven't got PCOS. Had tests last yr. Low thyroid though, at bottom of scale but not outside it, hence they won' t prescribe any thyroxine. All my family are quite hirsute and had hair on chin for years, electrolysis worked before, but they eventually grew back. Lazer treatment is really expensive though. Will have to save up, I guess.

Thats good about the PCOS anyway. Have you joined Groupon? I hear they sometimes do good deals on lazer so that might be helpful. I only really justified it because I could have spent 80? every 6 weeks on waxing or I could spend 80? on lazer and have a more or less permanent result. I got loads done so I'm sure yours wouldnt be that much. As an interim measure, can you bleach the softer hairs and only pluck or wax the stiffer ones? Makes for less plucking/stubble.

Waxing, hair removal cream, threading, I would try it all tbh and see which helps the best but I would avoid shaving at all costs.
