So boot cut is out, what jeans can I buy?

I've got one pair of skinny jeans that are comfortable but make me overheat in my lady parts Grin which isn't pleasant when encased in denim!

I'm high waisted, age 41, dress casually most of the time but fed up of looking like a frumpy mum in my boot cuts and mum boots.

What styles of jeans come with a high rise? I've got a bit of a muffin top that I want to disguise. Legs are ok, bum is good (only bit I like!).

Size 10 ish (12 on a bad day).

I only tend to buy my jeans in gap as I like them and am too lazy to try any elsewhere. I find the skinny jeans in there far too skinny and uncomfortable so wear the straight leg instead.

I am however a great believer in the boot cut jean and think that they can definately look stylish if Ron in the right way. Try the long and lean or the sexy boot.

And ditch the mum boots Smile

Bloody iPad.

Obviously 'worn in the right way' rather than 'Ron in the right way'

There is a lo-o-ong thread on here about bootcut jeans. Ignore the fashion police and buy what suits you and what you feel comfortable in. I am a fan of straight cut jeans myself, but also own bootcuts which I wear and some skinnies which I don't because they are too uncomfortable.

I buy bootcut, don't give a rats arse what the flipping fashion police have to say about it,I also have skinnies, boyfriend, wide leg and straight in my wardrobe too,a girl can never have enough styles of jeans Wink

Ok - the new seasons jeans are :
The Skinny Crop - an update on skinnies.
Flares - mid rise style. Perfect for curves.
The Slouchy to be worn rolled up and worn loose- perfect for boyish figure.
Pastel Jeans ( not too tight )
And last but not least ....
The Slim Boot - an inbetweeny style of skinnies and flares. They are on the catwalks at Paris and New York ..
I'm going with the last option.

I'm don't always like skinny jeans but am not fussed on bootcuts so i buy straight leg...Next are nice but i always have a bit of a muffin top - Boden are fab, higher so no muffin top..

I wear straight leg and have done for years, almost all of mine are from GAP but recently the quality has really gone downhill. I hate buying jeans as think they do really need to fit well to look good so have been dreading trying loads on and never finding good ones.

Then I impulse tried on some on my way to the changing room in H&M to try on leggings and happened to see my size at the front of the rack and thought I might as well since I'm going to have shoes etc off anyway - they are perfect. The ones I bought have a pretty high waist and best of all don't go baggy at the knees! They were £30 and had a choice of lengths and shades.

I believe different brands will work for different people depending on body shape but they are certainly worth a recommendation from me as I'd never have considered looking there had I been properly jean shopping and have always walked past the denim section whenever I've been in there before.

i'm very high waisted and have found next high waist skinnies (tucked into riding boots) the best for me. tried lots of other high waisted one inc Levi curve ID but none are as high and as flattering as the next ones.

i think we high waisted people have to be extra careful of looking frumpy: low waists will give us horrific muffin tops and anything already slightly mumsy like bootcut can look tragic in a high waist.
