I need a new moisturiser (or possibly new skin)

Please help - I am a bit clueless!

Am 37 and have 14mo DD. I had fairly perfect skin until she arrived - the first few minor wrinkles but nothing too scary. Skin definitely my best feature!

It is now suffering badly from lack of sleep, constant minor illnesses (aah, nursery!), too much central heating, bit of a rubbish diet, lack of fresh air/sunlight/exercise, general neglect and probably lack of sex and alcohol (which used to keep me cheerful at least!). It now has dry bits, wrinkly bits, big pores, black manky looking bits under my eyes, red bits around my nose, and I even got my first spot since being 14 last week. I am not amused.

I am still using any old very cheap moisturiser first thing in the morning - favour Nivea's daily stuff or anything in a green pot by garnier, and using st ive's scrub once a week, but realise this is woefully inadequate now!

What should I do? Is a better moisturiser going to be enough, or do I need more...stuff? Should I be using more, or different? Is a scrub a good idea or will i just make things worse? Gaah!

Thankyou!

Your skin has probably changed. It may be worth popping to boots to get a recommendation from one of the makeup counters if you ever get time! Failing that I'd recommend foundation and concealer - works to cover my multitude of sins, and multivits until you have the energy to sort diet out. I feel for you- have a 3 month old so know to an extent where you are coming from....

thankyou bouncy. God, I've never worn foundation!

I have horrible skin, oily in some places, really dry in others, large pores etc but I've found lancome hydrazen moisturiser worth every penny! It's £37 a jar but lasts a good few months and the gel formula one is made to be soothing for stressed skin. Maybe you could ask for a sample at their counter

You need to eat oily fish, nuts and fresh veg. Cut back on caffeine.

Get more fresh air in too.

That all helps more than any cream!

I love REN skincare products for my very sensitive skin, but it is pricey.
