...is neither a boring black man bag or covered in girly tweeness and pink crap (I'm looking at you , Pink Lining)? There must be a happy medium.

...is under £70?

...has a shoulder strap?

...can fit baby stuff and change of pants/book/pencils for a 3.5yo?

...is waterproof on the outside? I live in northern England, so lovely absorbent canvas is not an option.

So far I have identified the Skip Hop Duo

and the Ju Ju Be Hip .

Any other recommendations?

Ooh I have a fantastic that met all of those criteria (apart from being waterproof on the outside but I'm in Scotland and it copes).

here Come in a range of colours. We chose brown so DH could use it too. It will become a normal bag when we've finished with nappies etc.

For the benefit of searches, it's a Wallaboo bag. Around £38. Lasted 18 months so far and good as new.

Are, just typed and lost massive post, in which you were all graciously thanked by name. Grr.

figgy, do you have a link or a pic? Tis a very kind offer, thank you. Smile

I want a single change bag this time as DH refused to carry the pink floral Yummy Mummy bag we got as a present last time. I have received another (from the same person) which is a lovely thought but previously I ended up doing all the heavy lifting and most of the changes because of the bag. So it will be eBayed to fund the purchase of a less girly one, I'm afraid.

I know re the Boots one, and it is a very sensible idea, but I will definitely end up in a comedy bag swap situation this time as loads of other parents I know have one! Plus I am going to push an object the size of a large melon out of my fanjo in about 4 months and I feel like treating myself to a naice bit of luggage to cart stuff around in afterwards. I have a bit of a thing for bags anyway and don't often get to indulge it so this seems like a reasonable excuse.

Oh, fuck it. I'm so getting the Orla one in the sale and living on Lidl baked beans for a bit. Scurvy takes a while to kick in, right?

Get a nappy purse from Ruby and Ginger and a fleece/towelling change mat from Tots Bots and buy yourself a nice non-nappy bag. Get a plain rucksack for dh. Job done Smile

I am weak and have no sense...

Have ordered this bit of bag gorgeousness and should have it in my sweaty paws by Wednesday at the latest.

Dinner was bean curry...
