I keep looking at this dress and want to buy it, mostly because it looks so comfy! What would be better, grey or purple? What accessories/shoes etc would look good with it?

Also this cardigan - what to wear it with? Is handwash only too much faff?

Tbh, it looks like there is far too much material or something to that dress and it would be very unflattering. It doesn't even look good on the Model. I like shirt dresses in general but I really don't like that one, sorry.

Equally, I find waist tie cardigans really annoying as the tie generally either doesn't sit properly (adding unnecessary bulk) or always comes undone.

Sorry to be so negative!

The dress does look comfty -- perhaps straying too much into sleepwear? I thin you can find a dress that is comfty and more flattering.

Bunbaker · 15/01/2012 23:48

I'm sorry but that dress is too sacklike to be attractive. It looks comfortable alright, but I agree with mirpuppet it looks a bit too much like a nightshirt.

MoaningMinnieWhingesAgain · 15/01/2012 23:49

Looks too much like a nightie. A comfy nightie, but not a dress. Sorry.

Gillybobs · 16/01/2012 08:21

It looks like a nightshirt to me too Im afraid. Sorry : (

Id really recommend drapey jersey dresses for comfort with a bit more - ahem- style Grin

Oh nooooo! Blush Not what I wanted to hear. Grin
I know there are far more flattering dresses out there - I keep buying them and then never wear them because they show all my lumps and bumps, or accentuate my mummy-tummy, or make my thugs look big. So they just hang in the wardrobe and sometimes I take them out and think 'you're so lovely, I'll definitely wear you when the right occasion arises/I've lost some weight/it's warm enough/cold enough/planets are in right alignment.

So I thought a more loose-fitting dress might actually get worn.

I thought perhaps add some DMs for some 90s grunge factor?

Are you 18, OP? If not, I would skip the DMs. I reluctantly retired mine in my early 30's, but there comes a time when it is just not right Grin DMs, opaque tights, next you will be swapping the laces for ribbons with beads on like I did

mirpuppet · 16/01/2012 10:18

Skater style dress? Wool shift dress that needs a tee under it so won't show lups & bumps?

YouCanDoItYesYouCan · 16/01/2012 10:21

I'm not 18, but I'm still a few years away from 30.
I think it can look quite 50s too. The dress not the DMs.

Have been intrigued by a skater dress before, but find them a bit too playful.
Shift dress is far too formal for my current situation.

I like that mirpuppet I have a couple of similar tunic/dresses I wear with either leggings or skinny jeans.
