Looking good in pregnancy-I see other women who can do it but I seem to always look a mess!

I like clothes and take an interest in my appearance, always do my hair and wear a bit of make up but still just seem to look scruffy all the time! I have already bought a few bits (had nothing left from last pregnancy and it was summer so lived in stretchy vests and one skirt most of it)

So far I am wearing leggings and tunics/dresses that I already have but I seem to always look like I am scruffy. I can't get into even my stretchiest jeans now but mat jeans so far have been no good due to being an unflattering shape or too big. Do I give up on jeans? I am quite tall and have a very long body so nothing seems to quite work on my shape, dresses look too long to be worn with jeans but too short for leggings now and tops are never long enough. Help!

Is fitted more flattering do you think? I did look tent like in my last pg because of what I wore so was very keen to look smarter this time, any tips appreciated!

I think I look better / more stylish pregnant - this particularly seemed to be the case second time round, when my bump kind of sucked up the muffin top!

I'm quite small, so can't do tent / floaty shapes at all - the leggins and tunic look did nothing for me when pregnant (although I wear this a lot non-pregnant!). I generally liked to wear fitted tops and skinny jeans / trousers. I invested in a couple of nice pairs of maternity jeans and a few reasonably stylish but plain-ish tops (Isabella Oliver and Seraphine, plus a few that I picked up abroad - Isabella Oliver tops are really quite long, and I had some lovely Seraphine jeans). Then I just accessorised - scarves, chunky necklaces, nice shoes / boots, etc - that way you're not spending money on things that are only going to be useful for a few months. I wore non-pregnant cardigans, and just left them open.

So my top tip would be to buy a few really good quality things that will grow with you, and that fit you well. Fitted is usually more flattering. Just accept that you may only have 3 or 4 nice outfits, and wash them a lot!

leggings. Must start proof reading.

Thanks I will look again at isabella oliver, keep getting tempted by their tops so good to know they are long. Did you get your jeans from there too?

Wish I looked more stylish pregnant! I think I carry low and so don't have a defined bump. And there is the extra weight on my hips and thighs-am not liking my body already and am only half way there!

Just drove 30miles to the nearest h and m with full intention of getting some jeans. Went a size up in maternity and still couldnt get them over my thighs! Got a mat top and then just a normal jersey dress that will do for a bit but am still a bit stumped! Jeans for tall pregnant women who gain on thier thighs and bum too anyone? Desperate!
