Bronzer vs Blusher

Daft question I expect but what is the difference between blusher and bronzer? I can see that bronzer is generally brown and that there are various shades of blusher. So isn't bronzer just a brown blusher? You wouldn't wear both at the same time would you?

Hey Frog. I always wear both at the same time (I may be an exception to the rule of course), I have mid-tone skin with pink undertones and my bronzer is a deep gold. I brush it over cheekbones and lightly on forehead and nose, followed by a light blush high on the cheekbones. It tends to give a more even bronzed complexion and the blush makes it look more natural. (IMO anyway!) I never use one without the other as it looks too make-up-y otherwise :D

I tend to wear bronzer in the summer and blusher in the winter.

Oh, so you can wear both w/o looking daft! My Lily Lolo bronzer sample has nearly run out so am contemplating buying the full size or buying some of their blusher instead. I am wearing In the Buff which is a neutral-toned medium fair foundation. Not sure what I want from the extra colour, well yes I do know-I want to look less cadaver like and I am sure that there is more than one way to do this.
Perhaps I'll try some of their blusher this time around since it is winter.

Hello,

I use both all the time, blusher to add colour/highlight/define checks, bronzer to stop me looking dead.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 15/01/2012 20:01

In wear LL In the Buff too, I also use blusher and bronzer together.

My blusher is LL 'Flushed' and I use a teeny amount over my cheekbones. I then use 'Wakiki' bronzer on the very tops of my cheekbones, across forehead, nose and a little on chin.

I find it makes me look alive without looking overly made-up or like Aunt Sally Grin

Some very good tutorial videos on LL website showing how to wear blusher and bronzer.

Well I might try Flushed as well then, wasn't sure which one to try and you have helped me make my mind up.

J3D3 what bronzer do u use?
Got no reply re SueMoxley Famous Bronzer in Tahiti. Can't get it from Superdrug in ireland or online from them, no reply from the company ( sue moxley). Superdrug couldn't help.

Flushed looks scary in the pot - I'd describe it as a raspberry pink colour - but used sparingly it really does do as it's name suggests. I look like I've just got back from a healthy walk instead of MNing on the sofa Grin

Annie, i use a bronzer by First Light Cosmetics called Cap Ferrat. www.firstlightcosmetics.com/Mineral_Bronzers/PROD003.html I also use their blushers too. I love mineral powders, the colour is so much richer than any other bronzer/blush that I've used before.

The3Bears · 16/01/2012 10:59

Use a bronzer for contouring cheeks and blusher for cheekbones, I always use both. Mac Melba is a gorgeous matt shade a peachy, pink colour which looks good on most people.

chipstick10 · 16/01/2012 16:46

I use both. Bronzer where the sun hits and pale pink blusher on the apples of the cheeks.
