Is there such a thing as ballerinas (or other pretty flats) that are supportive enough to wear all day?

That's it really! Am finally able to wear ballerinas (after bunion surgery) and would love to wera some, but they need to be reasonably supportive if I'm to wear them for more than an hour, dashing around after children, school run etc.

TIA

Also Clarks (dont laugh!) do ballerinas that are very supportive and comfy. Have a look here OK some are godawful but there are a handful of really nice designs. I have the Cadiz and they are fab

Russell and Bromley's ballet flats have a proper sole and feel more like a shoe, I can wear them all day.

Totally endorse the Clarks ballerinas. Bought mine about 3 years ago, good quality patent leather, they don't look "Clarks" IYSWIM, are holding up very well and I got tons of compliments. They came in some funky colours, too.

Not sure what they'll be like but I've had Bertie flats before that I really rate.

I've had bunion surgery and my podiatrist told me that ballerina flats were one of the worst things you can wear, not just because of the lack of support but because you tend to "scrunch" your foot to stop them falling off. They recommended that if I wanted to wear anything like that they should have a strap (like maryjanes). Also, if you get a follow up appointment with a podiatrist try and get them to give you some orthotic insoles. You can put them in any shoes and they will give good support, so even if you buy shoes which are completely flat you will have the support to put in them.

Be really super sensible for the first year. Do ALL your toe wiggling exercises and don't rush straight into wearing the shoes you always wished you could. I may not have done as much as I should have with regards to the exercises and my foot is quite problematic still, 3 years later.
