BB Cream - untinted

I know that bb cream has come over here from Asia where its used as an anti-blemish cream and is raved about but over here all the ones Ive seen are tinted. I love my vitalumiere and dont want to stop using it so wondered if anyone had tried an untinted bb? Or would it be ok to use a tinted one under the foundation?

I'm not sure about being completely untinted but the MAC one is very sheer and designed to be worn under foundation rather than instead. I think you can only buy it online, not in their stores, which is rather odd though.

Can I ask what IS BB Cream? I see Boots No7 are doing one now. How is it different from tinted moisturiser?

Was told that only the MAC stand alone stores have the BB cream and not the instore dept store ones. I haven't been to one though to try it out, has a decent SPF though.

Well, I was in the MAC Pro store before Christmas and my mates that work in there said it was only available online. That may have changed since, as it was about a month ago.

It's fine to use some under foundation but a bit pointless. But on the other hand you may find you need less foundation. I've also heard they can be good under mineral makeup. But essentially a BB cream is a primer with SPF and a tint so you may as well just use a primer. The Asian BB creams tend to have 'correcting' properties too - such as helping pigmentation etc. The BB creams on the shelves here are more a blend of primer spf and tinted moisturiser with no whitening agents etc ( not bleaching just something more pertinent to Asian market).

So it kind of depends what you want it to do. If you want it to aid longevity of foundation I can thoroughly recommend Laura Mercier primer. If you want it as an alternative to makeup I think the Boots no 7 seem good though they are only SPF 15 which I think is too low. But they do have oil free versions unlike the garnier which are a bit greasy.

Ive just ordered an asian one called Skin79. Looks to be the best from all the reviews Ive read. If you google theres quite alot of info on the best sellers. I ordered that one because Ive got oily skin and it is an oil control bb cream. Alot of them sound as if theyre quite greasy. It hasnt arrived yet but will come back and update if it helps
