Powder foundation for awful skin

I like the idea of powder foundation as I'm looking for really good coverage for my scarred skin and I'd love to be able to just apply one product and not spend ages painting on concealer as I currently do. I've tried the Max Factor one and quite like the coverage but the colours are all too pinky (I'm very fair and suit neutral/yellow tones more). So, I would love to hear recommendations for full coverage powders, any brand, any price.

Lily Lolo is the best, you can buy samples to try also

Clinique Almost Powder FOundation. They do lovely neutral/yellow toned shades. It gives a brilliant air-brushed coverage and its a compact rather than loose so no blinking mess everywhere! www.clinique.co.uk/product/1599/6201/Makeup/Foundations/Almost-Powder-Makeup-SPF-15/index.tmpl

BTW it says sheer to moderate coverage but you can def build it to full if you prefer, I sometimes do for nights out etc. Not too pricey at £22

Thanks MissFoodie. I should have said I want a pressed powder rather than mineral powder but I will have a look at that. I do like mineral powders (used Bare Minerals) but I tend to make a mess everywhere with it :)

The Clinique one looks good Gillybobs, I like the thought of air brushed. Does it looks fairly natural?

Living Nature do a very nice pressed mineral powder, otherwise try Green People

The Clinique one is lovely but I'm pale and the palest one was far too dark for me Sad. I use lily lolo now but obviously that's not what you're after.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 10/01/2012 19:13

Thanks again MissFoodie and thanks Vizzini. I'm going to try out the Clinique and will also try some samples of the lily lolo as the range of colours looks good.

Anyone tried the Estee Lauder doublewear powder foundation? I like the liquid but the reviews of the powder don't look so good. Same with MAC studio fix.

I've tried both the EL and the mac! EL texture was good but colour selection is poor. The Mac colour selection is good but I found the texture to be bad! Maybe I'm just picky, but I don't think so.

I've got not-brilliant skin, oily but sensitive, quite fair, hormonal spotty chin on occassion and a few broken capillaries around nose (aren't I a beauty Grin)

I really like the EL double wear powder, it's the one i use every day. I do use a primer (EL matte base) on t zone and use Max Factor's Infinity powder like a concealer first, on any redness. As I'm so fair the redness is quite obvious and the EL doesn't give quite enough coverage on it's on. But it might be fine for you, coverage is otherwise good, medium to full I'd say.

Have you tried Aveda's dual powder? It's oil free and has good coverage - if I'm out of the Infinity i use my Aveda in the same way, as a concealer.

The Double Wear lasts well and is good imo at controlling shine. Studio Fix offers good coverage but has little oil-control power, ime.

on it's on?! on it's own, sorry.
