Anyone else a "Spring"? Which clothes shops do your colours?

My consultant said a lot of shops are doing Summer/Winter colours at the moment and Spring can be a bit trickier - does anyone have any tips? Many thanks

Trial and error! And never leave home without your swatch wallet.

THe neutrals are easy, loads of grey, navy, tan and cream everywhere. Its the brights that are more tricky

Ive had success in all sorts of places, DOrothy Perkins always have loads of colour I find, had a few things from Phase 8, Next and Boden. You just need to keep your eyes open. I like the Shopstyle.co.uk website which is a search engine for clothes. Type in "red blouse" or "green bag" whatever, (you can filter by price btw) and it brings up every red blouse/green bag out there.

I was classes as a warm spring years back but she was uncertain at the time Hmm

I think I am a cool spring, or a "soft" in the Colour me Confident chart.

I live in pale grey, a certain shade of camel which has a pinkish undertone, charcoal grey not too near my face, teal and various shades of greenier blues.

I used to find that Kew and Jigsaw did these colours , and still do, but I buy neutrals from Boden, White Stuff and The White Company.

I don't stick to the chart religiously- i think you adapt and get to know what suits.

I do not suit bright or harsh colours at all, but can wear lots of colours in more muted tones.

Its not so much certain shops but certain seasons bring out certain colours.

This winter there was a lot of our Red, "Poppy" and "Geranium", and a bit of "Terracotta" (which is more red than bricky) and there was a lot of warm tan/camel/walnut/etc.

There are usually a lot of bright teals (which is more our Aquamarine) and some Turquoise, whatever the season.

Last summer there was loads of Coral, but I think there will be more this spring, its not over yet.

Each season brings one or two trends, usually. No one shop excells at colour, though there is always the slightly overpriced Kettlewell for base layers if you are missing a key colour which is 2 star yet unusual. They are not great for anything other than base layers or simple pieces though. They are on sale at the mo.

Shop shop shop. Its out there if you really rifle around.

Have you tried kettlewell colours - they have a website and are base around spring colours etc

Thanks so much everyone for your advice.

I LOVE shopstyle! I spent about two hours on there last night Blush

I was told I was a "blue spring", do you think this means cool spring then? I suit the blues, greens, pinks and true red as opposed to the browns, beiges, oranges etc.

Thanks for the info on seasons and shop suggestions. My consultant gave me the catalogue for kettlewells - have you had success with it then? It did seem very basic but I liked the way they organised the colours, very simple for a virgin colourist!

Thanks again
