Just that really, they're starting to bug me lately. Maybe it's turning 30 but I've had enough of them

I got a Clarsonic for Christmas and it seems to be doing the trick. It's an ultrasound powered brush thing you use with your normal cleanser to deep clean and exfoliate twice a day.

I'll google, thanks titan

Bit out of my budget at the moment, but it does sound like it could be the kind of thing I need. Will search around see if I can find anything a tad cheaper

Forgot to say - I actually got the Mia which is the smaller version and only has one speed. It's cheaper and after looking at both in Space NK I didn't think I needed the bigger one. The bigger one has two speeds and you can also use on your body but you need to buy an extra attachment for that. And it's quite alot bigger.

Also, you can use them in the shower. I have only remembered to take it in the shower with me twice but seems a good idea as your pores will be open from all the steam.

I couldn't justify buying for myself which is why I asked for it as a christmas present. But I thought it works out cheaper than buying lots of tubes of exfoliating creams, masks, pore strips etc that might not work anyway. And going for facials which are definitely a waste of money!

Alpha H liquid gold is a glycolic acid treatment, which is really good. Have a google of the reviews. I've just started using it, and a couple of other Alpha H products. A week in, and I'm seeing great results already.

lucysmam · 07/01/2012 14:24

Maybe something to save towards then titan, definately need something cheaper for the minute though.

Quinn....am off to google, thanks

They are more within my budget, & sound like they do what I want. Will have a better look when the kids are tucked up though, make it hard to concentrate

If you want a cream to apply under make up, then I can recommend Clarins Lisse Minute. If really gives a flawless appearance.

ZZMum · 07/01/2012 15:31

Totally agree with clarisonic as turned my craters into smooth skin within days - yes expensive to layout for but I think you do not med to spend so much on products as this thing makes skin amazing - would not be without it now!

bubble2bubble · 07/01/2012 15:49

Another vote for glycolic -home peel, followed by moisturiser with glycolic will banish open pores and just about everything else you don't want on your skin

QuinnFabray · 07/01/2012 16:05

I'm using an Alpha H kit, which is half price at Salon Skincare at the moment. About £20 instead of £40. It contains a cleanser, and then the Alpha H liquid gold, which is the chemical exfoliant ( or peel ), a glycolic acid moisturiser, and a couple of of sample sizes of a mask and a scrub. It's the anti ageing one I think, although I primarily got it for my oily skin which is clogged with black heads. If it gets rid of my wrinkles too, then that would be perfect.

Early days yet, but I'm loving it so far. It's not as scarey as it sounds!

I had a clarisonic, and found it too harsh for my sensitive skin, although the glycolic acid stuff isn't causing any reactions. I just have lovely smooth skin when I wake up. It's cleared up my spots straight away, and I have high hopes it's going to sort out my blackheads and pores too, given time.

Clinique pore serum

bubble2bubble · 07/01/2012 16:12

Agree with Quinn -I've been doing Neostrata peels for a while and am a total convert despite being very scared to start with and having very sensitive skin with a tendency to be dryish . It's wonder stuff. Normally a big fan of natural/organic products but there's no doubt that the all out chemical assault gets results

QuinnFabray · 07/01/2012 16:23

Yeah, I've pretty much tried everything over the years, from oil cleansing to Clinique three step, and everything in between. Nothing's worked as good as this, wish I'd tried it years ago.

fluffylegs · 07/01/2012 19:15

I'm using Alpha H too and really rate it. I think glycolic acid is natural, bubble! I like tge Alhpa H kit quinn mentions as everything is explained - it does make your skin tingle at first.

lucysmam · 07/01/2012 19:50

Is Salon Skincare a website? Never really looked for anything before so no ideas where to start. Bargain price of £20 for a kit sounds ideal to try out and see if I like it/have results.

Yes, it's a website. They have a big sale on at the moment, so don't know how long that deal will be there for. Good website, reliable service.

lucysmam · 08/01/2012 12:06

Brill, will check that out, thanks
