My hair is like a hedge.

Long, thick, bleached, to within an inch of it's life.

Cheap shampoo and conditioner makes it like a haystack - think <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=garth+wayne%27s+world&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=ACBCpx-e0E2MVM:&imgrefurl=www.myspace.com/smurfs_are_gay&docid=li60gkEk0wSxjM&imgurl=img.myyearbook.com/zenhex/images/quiz1/2112/res2.jpg&w=222&h=260&ei=NGAHT7qfCpC58gORyJXmCg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=287&sig=103652371540284191438&page=1&tbnh=118&tbnw=111&start=0&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:19,s:0&tx=63&ty=51" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Garth from Wayne's World.

I use Moroccan Oil which helps, but it seems to be the S&C that makes the real difference.

Tresemme blonde seems to be the best I've tried recently. Pantene is ok. Aussie is expensive shite......

Is the Moroccan oil S&C worth a go and the arm and the leg it costs ?

I personally use Redken Extreme S & C when my hair is fried. I find it really works.

JosieRosie · 06/01/2012 21:07

I love Tresemme Naturals - I use the conditioner as both a rinse out and a leave-in. Lots of it too. You didn't say if you have curly hair but I love Boots Curl Creme (pink one). My hair has been v unhappy with all this weather so I've been conditioning every day and using Boots CC - hair looking much happier after just a couple of days.

catinboots · 06/01/2012 21:09

Thick wavy hair. I have the pink curl cream but I only used it once and I think I put too much in as it's for actual curly hair.

My hair just looked rats-tailish and dirty

Pureology Hydrate S+C and Morranoil. The Pureology is an investment but each bottle lasts 6 months so in reality is only about £5 per month...... By from www.indigohaircare.co.uk, genuine product and good service.

Matrix Biolage hydrating S&C ("hydratherapie") is what my salon uses. There is also a conditioning balm to use as a once-a-week treatment. Buy it at a Matrix salon or a hairdressing wholesaler, or Amazon/ebay stockists. Appx £10 for 500ml but lasts for ages.

Also Tigi BedHead Resurrection S&C is fab and smells gorgeous. Appx £15 for 750ml

Creme of Nature shampoo. The new version has argan oil in it.

neuroticmumof3 · 07/01/2012 12:50

I'd go Philip Kingsley elasticizer and use it a couple of times a week. Also consider having a Brazilian treatment as that's very good for condition and makes your hair easier/quicker to style without the frizz.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 07/01/2012 15:14

Another fan of Matrix Biolage here, it's fab stuff. I also have naturally curly, hedge-like hair, which I can't allow to do its own thing... also a regular cut nd some GHDs with protective balm. I find that I wrench my hair with the brush only when it's 'natural', when it's sleek and straight I leave it alone and it looks better for it.

KateSpade · 07/01/2012 23:31

I used to bleach my hair like that aswell, my natural color is nearly black, and i was white blonde, major bleach.

It wasnt in good condition till i stopped bleaching it, and went natural again tbh, however,
The bedhead dumb blonde is amazing, expensive but good!

JoyceDivision · 07/01/2012 23:33

Sounds daft, but have you tried Boots swim & Gym, as it's designed for hair knackered and dried out by chlorine?

Fregley · 08/01/2012 08:12

I find a hair cut abd colour if you need it conditions mine. I like oil but also the chsriesvwortington thickening conditioner if broke. Didn't like elasticizer. Like kerestase

BornToShopForcedToWork · 14/01/2012 23:25

catinboots Your hair sounds like mine. I use the Honey&Oat shampoo by Label M and it I couldn't be any happier.

HazleNutt · 15/01/2012 09:09

Kerastase Nutritive is the best for damaged hair. You'll never go back to supermarket shampoos again.

porkypine · 15/01/2012 19:14

Definitely the "restore" range from Living Proof. Expensive, but incredible. I use their No Frizz range and my hair's never looked better, but I have also used their restore range and it is superb. You can buy it from Space NK

henrythecat · 15/01/2012 19:18

Not a shampoo I know but as a cheap and cheerful fix I've found Vo5 hot oil treatment works quite well when my hair gets to the point that I can't detangle (just don't get it in your eyes.....). About £3 for pack of 4 I think.
