Glitter nail polish

I want a good quality one that will last to use on my toes.

The type that look all glittery, but are smooth when you touch them. I had them done before at a salon, but I don't have time to go again before we go away and I can't remember the brand she used.

Any suggestions?

PastGrace is right about top coat (Seche Vite! The best) making it smooth, but you still have the issue that it peels off. Better on toes than fingers though, and looks amazing in sunlight so on holidays is a must IMO. I do love glittery polish :)

I haven't tried the Orly/DL ones, sozzers.

I do the UV cured soak off gels on myself. I got a lamp and the gels from ebay, much cheaper than a salon. The glitter effect you get with the uv gels is awesome, the finish is smooth, they are dry instantly, and they come off easily with some acetone.

Thanks Pinot I've seen the Seche one, will get some of that. I don't really do painted fingernails, I feel like I can't touch anything!

Green, I don't know if I want to go to all that trouble at home although I agree the results are amazing. Do you do your toes? I don't know if I could apply them properly.

I know what you mean about the faff, but it's not really that different to painting your nails conventionally, I paint it on, hand/foot goes under lamp for 2 minutes, next coat, and so on. Toes are harder to reach, but quicker to do as you paint one foot whilst the other is under the lamp.

All in all it takes me less time than it would to paint my nails with 2-3 coats of normal polish and then do nothing for 30 minutes or so whilst I wait for it to dry. It goes on, it's dry as soon as its been under the light, it's done, my fingers last 10-14 days, my toes last for weeks. The kit was pretty cheap (I shopped around on eBay) and its easily paid for itself compared to what it would cost me to go to a salon every two weeks.

If you're in the Wirral area pop around and I'll do yours for you! Wink

Aw, thanks Green, sadly, I am the opposite end of the country. Sounds interesting though, I might see if some friends want to get together on it so we can drink wine do each others toes and buy trillions of colours share the cost

It does seem confusing, do you mix your gels yourself or can you buy them already done? When I search I come across gel 'builders' in clear or colours- is this the polish equivalent?
