Hi all,
I work from home, I always pretty much have , and cannot believe it has taken me so long to consider this 'issue' :)
I need some basics to wear through the week, i need to look smart enough to do the school run/pick up groceries in at best most of the week, but I don't need to be any more 'dressy' than that.
I am thinking jersey and silky knits, loose 'pants' , that kind of thing.
I'm well acqainted with fashion and what suits me normally, but i am crap at casual, I have realised I could be much more comfortable through the week without looking like a tracksuit wearing, make-upless scruff.
Biggest problem is that I am a size 18, finding anything excepy dresses to fit is a nightmare, but I don't want to spend all day hoiking up tights or digging out tight waistbands...
What to do without looking like Waynetta?

some casual jeans? looser fitting more line trouser type than stiff denim jeans?
with nice smarter close fitting tops/t-shirts.
also those yoga pants type black lycra but loose pants can look smart with the right footwear and tops, just dont go teh fake juicy couture velour look.
ive lost weight in 2011 and gone down 7/8 dress sizes and still feel most comfy in dresses, as i wear knee high boots most days in the winter i buy footless tights and wear with socks, they are more like leggings and so stay up better also i hate the constricted foot feeling i get in tights so save tights or stockings for when i really have to.
I work in a casual office and wear jersey type dresses, wrap ones or with some kind of detailing around the bust area. On dress down days i tend to wear sweater type dresses in the winter and longline jumpers with leggings.

Ive worked from home for spells and I really couldnt imagine going down the "leesure" wear route at all. To me it should be for taking part in fitness activities only : ) Or at a push, when you are in for the day and def wont be out again or expecting visitors. I just think you feel better about yourself when you've made a tiny effort to be smartish....

Id always, always wear something I wouldnt feel ashamed to be seen in! For me, jeans (can be comfy if they fit properly) with a jersey top and ballet flats and always a nice printed scarf too. In winter, knee high boots instead and a lovely soft cosy cardi. And the ubiquitous scarf. Very easy, very comfy, no harder to pull on that anything else.

Try Phase Eight, Oasis, Dorothy Perkins etc for nice jersey daywear tops. Boden, Great Plains, Zara for knitwear.

Phase Eight jersey tops in sale here just be selective, some of their stuff can be a bit grannyish. Generously sized at Phase 8 I find

Also Great PLains have an amazing sale on here you should be ok with their XL in tops

I have this prob too. Dog walk at 9am and 2pm - therefore can't be arsed to change in between. I usually wear the lycra type gym trousers - tucked into boots and whatever tops are warm.
I just keep the dog lead round my shoulders at school pickup time so people can think I have a reason to be scruffy!
Tho am thinking I should maybe make an effort and change into something decent after first dog walk.
