Not really style or beauty. Trousers for a 12yr old boy

my son needs new casual trousers after a fruitless search in town today I am reduced to online shopping.
He needs basics and not jeans. Sweatshirt material type jogging bottoms with loose bttom of leg, he wont wear the elasticated bottom ones and chino style casual trousers, maybe combats.
Hes tall and broad, he is a rugby player and not small at all but hes not fat/overweight. he wears an age 12 occassionally a 13 depending on the fit.
I dont want to buy mens clothing for a 12 yr old and think most mes that would fit in the waist would be too long anyway.
today we tried zara, gap, next, m&s, h&m, debenhams. I cant beleive we didnt manage to get any in m&s or h&m as those are usually our fail safe stores.
i only have crappy electron card too so cant order online with john lewis or m&s.
thanks

I've been lucky in Tesco for my 13 year-old, otherwise I have to get men's clothes. They all do a short leg length. River Island and TopMan have been good.

No idea if it will be any good, but have you tried m&m direct?

I second Top Man because of the different leg/waist sizes.

ive found a couple of pairs in next online in the new range. Will check out tesco, there is a large clothing/home one not far from us. The trousers seem really expensive in ri and topman for a 12 yr old though but might have to if no alternative.
It hasnt been a problem with fit, just not being able to actually find anything other than jeans.
will take a look on m&m, he has track bottoms with cuffs for sport but hes not into wearing that type of clothing unless playing sport.
thanks

TKMaxx can be good. I have 2 sons - one average build and the other tall & skinny. Top Man is good for the skinny one. Debenhams has provided some good items too. Don't buy M&S for a 12 year old - fine for younger ones but by 12-ish it becomes uncool.
Even Primark is worth a look for boys - most of their stuff is trashy but I've had a few gems from there that have really lasted.
Next also offer a good choice of leg lengths.

I sometimes find good stuff for DS in Asda / Tescos. And H&M / M&M are favourites.

I think there is a better selection in the Autumn than now though - it's just rubbish in the sales ATM!

yes stupidly thought he wouldnt have a growth spurt so we would be fine for trousers but hes shot up again and everything already owned is too short, at least with the dd's i can put them in tall boots so the bottoms of toruser legs not meeting thier socks doesnt show Blush

Out tk maxx is dire and i never find anything, but will take a look online, am hoping to avoid town for a couple of weeks.

Can you order from next without an account, i cant seem to find that option. I do not want a next directory or credit, just delivered to store ten minutes from me, as they stop at size 10 it seems very rare to get anything above that age at any rate.

thanks for all the suggestions. he needs new trainers too, a size 6 now so mens ranges for those and an additional £20 a pair. really must stop feeding these children so they dont grow Wink
