Best jeans with a higher waist

Am size 14 and in my 40s... Like darker denim - am wearing a white stuff pair at the moment but they are too low. Am an apple shape - any recomendations?

I don't really want to spend more than £60 as I am broke from Christmas. I feel too old to go into top shop though.

I am 5 foot 5 and my belly needs to be flattened . Am going to look at Oasis. What about Hobbs or jigsaw?

I was going to say Not Your Daughter's jeans, I am wearing my pair right now and I love them. Did not know they were that pricey though - bought my pair in Nordstrom Rack (outlet store) for about $40 here in the USA, so obviously saved loads. They are great - high waist, nice bum and stretchy. I am a size 18 and they make me look nice and hide my bumps.

I've M&S ones that fit beautifully for 5 minutes. Then the usless "Lycra" gives up the ghost and they fall down

The Oasis Cherry jeans are the best fit I have found (tallish, apple, bit of a muffin-top). Good high waist, skinny but not too tight, lovely and soft. They are in the sale now - £25!

I have Marks Indigo collection ones in skinny fit and skinny bootleg fit.They are great,really pleased with them. I think.

You are not too old for Topshop! I'm in my 40s and shop there. You just have to be a bit selective and avoid the most trashy or skimpy stuff.

I love my Levi's 505's. They are a unisex style so they are in the men's department but they are very flattering. There are two different denims which are different in price. Mine are the cheaper ones, at £75.

I like Dorothy Perkins super skinny jeans. They sit on the waist and have lots of Lycra, so make your legs look amazing. And they're only £25.

My waist is 12 inches smaller than my hips. Men's jeans would just gape at the waist. These might fit an apple, but definitely not my pear shape.

Levi's

Granted they were like £75/80 though.

Cheap jeans weirdly the best ones I had were Sainsburys.

But the Levi's are great and really do flatter too (I have big legs so don't wear skinny/tight jeans).

The ones I have might be called demi curve or something - will look later!

Salsa jeans. They come in boot leg or skinny and they are fab. Very flattering indeed
