Men's wellies for tree-trunk calves?

Not sure if this really belongs in S&B but here I go anyway....

Poor DH - he was desperate for a pair of Hunters and I bought him some for Christmas, but his legs are too chunky for him to get them on Sad

Any ideas for good solid and a bit trendy wellies which will go round the more, ahem, muscular of calf? He's a size 11.

Thanks!

Honestly ? wellies are for getting mucky , blokes who don't bat for the other side shouldnt be wearing trendy ones . The toggi neoprene ones are excellent , so warm you can wear without socks .

p.s hunter wellies are shite since they became trendy , no-one i know has had a pair last longer than 6 months .

The neoprene Le Chameau ones have buckled gussets at the side that you can let out for extra chunkiness comfort. They're warm and wear well, but they're quite expensive.

OOOOOOOOOOOH le Chameau , drool ,gibber ,wilt Grin

The Toggi ones also have a buckled gusset. It's either the Bailey's or my strange brain ,but the term buckled gusset makes me feel quite moist Grin.

shall go put my jimmys on and go to bed and read an improving book

He should try these - I have huge calves and they are plenty roomy enough. They are really good wellies for walking too as they are shaped around the ankle so your feet/legs don't slide about in them like some wellies.

You can also get neoprene lined ones if he wants warm - they are £££ though.

If he wants hunters, my DP has hunter balmorals which are more chunky and grippy. here

If you want slightly cheaper ones, you can get balmorals for around £55 that are not bamboo carbon or neoprene lined (would highly recommend the bamboo carbon, v toasty).

I also have them too (not in a matching colour obviously) and they are so nice - really warm, toasty and comfy for long walks. Highly recommend.
