Botox consultation next week - what do I need to ask/know?

I am not trying to turn myself into Nicole Kidman, honest! Grin

I have very deep 'number 11' frown marks and three deep lines across my forehead which appeared this year after a period of extreme stress and illness.
I would like to 'ease' the look a bit. I'm not trying to look younger (I'm not old anyway - 34).

i have an appointment next week with a reputable doctor in Harley St. Any idea what I should be asking at consultation? Obviously I am a bit scared of side effects (drooping brow etc - yuck!), and also want to know how long it will last. Any thing else I should be considering?

Please no 'learn to love yourself' comments! I am a feminist, but I am sick of looking in the mirror and seeing a frowning, scowling harridan looking back!

I'd be interested to hear how it goes as I'm 35 & would definitely consider it but a bit scared really (although of what, I've no idea!). All the best.

I am a bit scared, too. Bit scared of needles, bit scared of scary botox doctors trying to persuade me into a face lift or something Grin... and hate the idea of people finding out and thinking I am a vain, shallow twat.

I just hate the way my face changed so dramatically this year. I was very ill in the spring and my forehead just seems to have taken a real blow. I have toyed with getting a fringe instead of taking such drastic action, but I really dont suit a fringe at all.

Will keep you posted!

A filler might be needed as well as Botox. I have been doing it for years and for deep wrinkles I use a filler and then about 2 weeks later I go back for Botox. But I don't know how wrinkly Wink Grin your forehead is! Some places do have a 'commercial' feel and they may try to sell you other things such as peels etc, do NOT feel you have to buy into them. Also make sure you like the Dr. To be fair Botox is a pretty routine thing nowadays so not a lot can really go wrong. Have you seen the Dr before? If so did he give you any lidocaine? Being pain free is a must!! Good luck!
