how far in advance do you decide what to wear each day?

Just read somewhere that the organised way to do things is to decide on a Sunday night what to wear every day and get 7 outfits ready on the Sunday! How could that work? In my case I'm either at work - having got there by a mixture of train and a 15 minute walk whatever the weather - then in a building with no air con and faulty heating.
Non working days 2 mile round trip on foot for school run and sometimes other errands - again no matter what the weather.
So i don't see how that advice could work for me as I'm so constrained by weather - but would like to be a little more organised as think I'd be better groomed with more advance planning.
Just wonder what you all do?

No idea either!! Definitely agree about being constrained by weather. I do a 5 minute school run on foot, followed by a 10 minute walk to the station and then a 15 min train journey to work. The office has poor air con - some rooms are freezing and some are boiling.
I tend to have a quick look out of the window when I wake up and this is what guides me. e.g. if it is raining, I wear boots instead of heeled shoes. or if it is bright, I might take my trench instead of winter coat.
I would love to hear from people who do plan a week in advance though!

I usually decide the evening before but I may change my mind on the morning depending on weather.

I could never organise my entire wardrobe a week before!

I don't decide 7 days in advance, but I do lay things out the night before which I find saves me loads of time.

Most of the time I get five days of work clothes out on Sunday night and hang them together on an over door hook, I add scarves, belts, etc. to the hanger as well. Weather changes just mean different footwear - tights and ballet flats on dry days and boots on wet days. And maybe a different coat. Some days I'm not in the mood for the outfit I've got out so I grab black trousers and a jumper. But it does mean I know my clothes are ready and I don't have to scrabble to find something that doesn't need ironing, or the right accessories. My makeup is laid out in order in a tray as well.

But then I am a bit obsessive about organisation for me. Blush. Then I can work on auto-pilot and concentrate on what everyone else needs.

Blimey - that's impressive MWB.
You say you hang the outfits on hooks? That was going to be my next question - where would be the best place to lay out outfits - without people plonking stuff on top of them??

Gosh, I usually spend so long battling with my hair that by the time it's looking half decent, I realise I need to leave the house in 10 minutes. It's usually whatever worked yesterday, until washday arrives, then it's frantic rummaging with interesting freaky and usually mismatched results.
