I want a fringe, I have wanted a fringe for about 15 years. I am a coward.
So who do you think doesn't look good with a fringe? I have wavy hair and wear glasses. Not thin but not fat.

Yes!A side parted feather fringe longish (at least eyebrow length), not a blunt one as haven't got straight hair.

talkingnonsense - don't really have a humidity problem in UK atm!

I have a thin, middle parted longish fringe which pushes to the sides but takes away forehead severity (esp makes a difference when hair is tied up). Round face, bra strap length dark, layered, wavy hair. I think it suits me, but it does get in my eyes a lot.

I have a massive cowlick, I can't do a side fringe but I have a blunt straight-across fringe. You just need a few tricks and a bit of effort:

  1. It needs to be heavy so you have the weight, so mine starts quite far back
  2. Don't ever let it dry by itself becure you'll never get it stay forward then.
Blow dry it with a round brush pulled all to one site first, then brush it all to the other site and dry. Then brush it foward and finish drying.
  1. I then run the starighteners over it and spray with hairspray to hold in place.

Apols for the terrible typing, *site = side

Hello, thanks for all the replies. After careful consideration (15 years worth) I had it done! I don't LOVE it, but I don't hate it. Think I just need to get used to it! Didn't go for side parting in the end but I can put it back using an alice band without looking too stupid (well apart from the alice band).

I have learnt this morning that it looks stupid if I straighten it, luckily the upside of a fringe is it takes just a couple of mins to dampen and redo!!!
