and do the cut they want to do? im in a hair rut. or my hairdresser is.

i go to a ridiculously expensive hair salon and have for the last 5 years or so (wins hairdresser of the year type comps in london)

all the girls are tres glam and lovely with beautiful tresses
i go in and every six blardy weeks i come out with the same sodding cut, no matter what i ask for

i always come out looking like Karen O from the yeah yeah yeahs.

only on me its mumsy and quite frankly shit.

my face needs big hair, if i HAVE to have a bob i want a bob that is longer at the side than the back, you know, trendy

i get a bob that is longer at the back, every sodding time.
im growing it and its just looking mumsier and mumsier !

what can i do? my hair is fine, but loads of it and it does exactly as its told. i used to have a long blonde trendy hair.
now i look like i did when i was 9.

dont say just stop going cos i just cant....dunno where else to go and feels disloyal! she is a brilliant hair dresser, does magazine shoots and all sorts, lovely girl, but on me i get the Karen O or nothing...

Just go somewhere else- anywhere. I had the same hairdresser, who has also become a friend, for the last 10 years. I hadn't been happy with the cut or colour for the last few years so I decided to take the plunge and go somewhere else. I was sooo happy when I got it done- so much better. I think a change is really good-some hairdressers get a bit blase. I have also found that the more expensive the salon the worse the haircut- and I have paid out a small fortune in the past. Ask around and get someone good.

I used to go to Toni and Guy, but the fantastic stylist I had left and the one I got next was really bad. My hair sound similar to yours. I'd ask for a bob and get one that was longer at the back and frankly crap. I now go to the local salon after asking a lady in a lift with a superb cut where she got her's done, think old ladies in hair dryers,nuns in the back room from the local convent and the local radio station on. I get the best cut ever and people always ask where I get my hair cut, best of all it's £19 for a wet cut and blow-dry.

Definitely ask around and don't be scared to go local.

Hmm, that Leticia Haute Coiffure has got some shockingly bad reviews. Think I'd expect a bit of bowing and scraping for West End prices.

I accidently booked on a day when my regular colourist wasn't working. It really was accidental though.

It turned out to be a stroke of luck as I now have the hair that I always wanted. I tried to explain/express but it never seemed to get through.
