So, this "Colour Me Beautiful" thing??

Can you tell me what is involved please?

I have seen it mentioned on here a couple of times but never really looked into it properly. Now I've found out that Dp may have bought me a consultation or whatever it is for Christmas!

I've never mentioned it and it's not something I would expect him to think of so either he's a MNer too or he works with one. Xmas Grin

I have looked it up since and it does look good but what actually is it?

House of Colour and Colour me Beautiful (two main colour consultancies in the uk) have consultants who drape a variety of coloured bits of fabric over you. First they determine if you have warm or cool skin, then narrow it down further to one of 4 'seasons' and within that season which of three groupings you fall into. They give you a book of fabric swatches and, depending on whether you go with CMB or HoC thy will talk to you about putting colours together, put some make up on you and send you on your way!

It is brilliant, totally recommend it.

Oh thank-you.

Glad you think it's brilliant.

Had a proper look last night and it does look fab.

Since having 2 children in 2 years I was starting to complain a bit to Dp about not having any nice clothes that fit, not knowing what suited me anymore and being a bit stuck-in-a-rut with my make-up so this sounds perfect, although it's still a mystery to me how he came up with this idea himself. I felt exactly the same - 2 DCs under 3, spent most of last 4 years pregnant or BFing, feeling v frumpy. Getting colours done has really helped pull my (meagre) wardrobe together and generally help me regain some sense of style.

I hope he has bought it, now I've sold it so thoroughly! Grin

Oh yes its a fantastic experience and makes you much more focused on buying the correct colours. You wont believe the difference it makes to how you look when you are wearing a top and a scarf in your best colours. House of Colour also offer a really good "Style Day" separately if you fancy it at a later date. They analyse your body type/personality and guide you on best styles and shapes for you.

I went to a woman near Winchester. She was great. Independent. Took
Blunt friend with me.

I'm ambivalent about this - I can see how it might transform the wardrobes/lives of some - yet at the same time I look at the website and it just screams "scam/pyramid scheme/herbalife" to me. Confused
