Animal print dresses - a bit too Bet Lynch?

I am liking this dress and this dress too.

Please tell me honestly - are they nice? I'm 33, 5'3 and size 10ish with a bit of a belly. SO not used to going out so not sure what is 'in' anymore. I would probably wear with opaques and shoe boots as can't manage heels anymore!

Would be grateful for opinions before I purchase one of them :)

Animal print is either a love it or hate it thing and I LOVE IT! You have to be careful how you wear it - make sure you look classy rather than trashy - but I like both of those dresses you linked to - the 1st more than the 2nd.

I brought a snake skin dress today which is bloomin georgeous Grin

Love it too.

Like the second one especially.

Snackbagofparkin · 17/12/2011 22:37

Love them both, but the first for me. I'd wear with opaques and show boots too. Possible with a plain navy long sleeved tshirt underneath. For daytime at least!

monkeysmama · 17/12/2011 22:54

I have the second one and it's very flattering on the waist because of the ruching.

clarkykitten · 17/12/2011 23:01

Ooh, thank you for opinions. I think I will go with the 2nd one, but may sleep on it first and decide in the morning!

I have the second one and agree its v flattering on. in fact I started almost identical titled thread a couple of months back when I was buying it!

the first one is lovely too, more of a daytime dress I think?

lurkinginthebackground · 18/12/2011 12:21

I don't like either, but then again I have an irrational hatred of animal print of any kind!!

Salvora · 18/12/2011 14:52

I like the print tea dress better.

A Spanish group in facebook honours animal prints because it's the one thing that the tacky, the posh, and the punkies have in common.

You can accesorise it in classy way. Use browns and camels and gold/gold plated jewerly.

high brown boots would be great.

It's a marmite thing which is tricky on me as I'm blonde and have big boobs. I veer on the side of La Lynch if I'm not very careful. Avoid the obvious dated accessories of a red lip and patent accessories and you should be OK.

rookiemater · 18/12/2011 16:15

I really like the first one.

tanfastic · 18/12/2011 16:39

Love the first one. I posted a similar thread a little while back about shoes. And I'm 38. It's def how you wear it. I saw someone with a leopard print dress and matching shoes and bag the other day and it was massive overkill.
