What does he wear and where from please? I want to get dp a casual jumper for Christmas but all he ever wears is a navy blue v neck sweater (he has three virtually identical ones!) and I am soooooo bored of seeing them! Any ideas please? He does like best in navy but might also consider a different shade of blue, maybe grey, maybe khaki. But please NOT an M&S v neck!

Thank you. :)

Thank you - could do with it being somewhere I can buy irl. He always used to be a large but I suspect he might be a medium in some places now, so I'd need to see it in the flesh.

DH is a one stop shopper and we go to John Lewis twice a year. I bought him a grey wool jumper there last year which is rather nice.

All Saints stuff is lovely. Have you tried TK Maxx? the mens stuff is much better than the womens (although he picked me up a all saints denim jacket the other day 110 down to 17) and I regularly see ralph lauren cashmere and calvin klein jumpers for 30ish.

DH got a DKNY grey cable knit jumper for 50 the other week, it was 200 originally.

I also find the mens clothes less squashed together too.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/12/2011 15:46

Zara, Gap, Uniqlo

startail · 17/12/2011 15:46

Debenhams or M&S blue harbour here. My DH would look nice in that jumper.
He's generally found in dark cords or chinos and a dark rugby shirt from the above (hates jeans). Never buys his own clothes and really doesn't care (apart from the annoying jeans issue).
Debenhams are brilliant for designer shirts if you are lucky and catch a sale. Very handy for Xmas partys and meals out for men who will not spend £££ on clothes.

bigbadbarry · 17/12/2011 15:53

My DH is a don't-give-a-shit one-stop shopper and mostly likes those jumpers from next that have a fake collar attached to look like he has a shirt under. Wish he'd branch out a bit!

herecomesthsun · 17/12/2011 15:54

My DH has dark brown hair and blue eyes. He does have a navy blue merino sweater (that was bought in John Lewis and was by Gant), and also has some dark red sweaters of different sorts, red also suits his colouring. I have bought a couple from Boden in the sale.

Thanks for all these latest comments.

I will have a look in TK Maxx, if it's not too insane. All Saints far too cutting edge for him! :)

I've given up on the Debenhams website but will go and have a look irl.

My DH wears a lot of this sort of stuff - not always Crew Clothing, but I can't remember the others.

TracyK · 17/12/2011 16:00

M and s have some nice cardi come jackets. My dh likes these as it's cold in our house too and can wear buttoned/unbuttoned/with t shirt etc. Though he has recently discovered hoodies to slop around in. A hood keeps the heat in post 9pm

onehitwonder · 17/12/2011 16:11

One True Saxon knitwear is great, good detailing, not 'fashion' for proper 'blokes' but who like clothes.

Banana Republic is lovely for mens stuff, loads here

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2011 17:28

Thank you. There's no point me buying anything expensive because he wouldn't appreciate it. There's also no way he'd wear a polo neck! This has given me lots of ideas though - I suspect Debenhams is the way forward tbh.

Gap Merino V necks are great, bargain if you can get one of the 30% off vouchers often on the go. Boden also great quality I find

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2011 18:03

How on earth did I forget Gap?

Okay so my DH is 30 not 40 but if money was no object I'd love him in French Connection stuff - classic without being old mannish and nice quality. Their sale has started too!

earlyriser · 17/12/2011 18:15

John Rocha from Debenhams, have wool jumpers under £30 just now

DH when I met him only bought very conservative clothes from M&S we now have some nice jumpers from Next, John Lewis, Fenwicks..... Still nothing amazingly adventurous but some nice and quite smart stuff (although I've found sizing a bit variable this year)

wonkylegs · 17/12/2011 18:32

Oh and debenhams too ... John Rocha seem quite nice.

TuttoRhino · 17/12/2011 20:06

DH wears Uniqlo, Nigel Hall and John Smedley jumpers. Mostly v necks.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2011 21:35

Thank you all. I think what I'm looking for is something more casual than a v neck pullover and less casual than a hoodie.

What about Gant?

Gillybobs · 17/12/2011 21:42

IS this any good? My DH has a few of this sort of thing and gets loads of weekend wear out of them . His are Boden and Gap but couldnt find on their sites here
