Right; need to get a black leather, cross body, largish handbag as a Christmas present for my mum.

It needs to be under £100.

The only ones I've seen so far that she'd like are this and this and they are over budget.

Have you ruled out the Ted Baker bag tethers ? madammechole has just linked to the same one that I did so maybe there is an element of kismet there - of all the bags in all the world we both linked to that one !

-Other Aldo one too casual- I think it's the silver detail actually. i think it has to be gold...

-Kew one is good, but again, I think it has to be gold rather than silver.
-Hobbs one good size, but horrible; I think it has to have a fold over flap
-Second Hobbs nice, but tiny.

This is at least helping me work out what she needs, so thank you Unfortunately, it looks like what I need is another £100 to get her something decent

SirToffee- I usually hate Radley, so didn't think of looking there... but that one is actually not bad... I know I said gold, but I think she may like that one... Do you think it would be big enough? I'm going to measure a bag of mine. What's the quality of Radley bags like?

My sister has bought a few of the plainer black ones - it is a dog thing! They seem to be well made, but I do think the leather is quite soft? Which is nice when it's new, but of course might make it a bit more fragile.
