Make up for sensitive skin for my teen god-daughter- Xmas present.

My god-daughter is fourteen and starting to get interested in make up. She has asked me to buy her some for Christmas and her Mum and Dad have agreed it is okay.

I have trawled the shops and the internet for a basic palette of eye shadow/lip stick etc for sensitive skin but have drawn a blank. To buy it all separately will be stupidly expensive and to buy Clinque or other brands like that etc would be a waste of money on a young girl.

I remember getting my first make up set at that age and I loved it- but for sensitive skin? I am struggling!

Help - I want to spend about £15-£20.

Hmm, I think you will struggle to get something that is teen friendly but also sensitive, in that teens love the whole 'benefit' and 'urban decay' ranges. Saying that, I have really, really sensitive skin in my face but can use any thing on my eyes/lips.

Have you looked at no17 in Boots?

I agree that age will like Benefit, but I'm not sure about sensitivity.

What about Lipstick Queen? The Medieval one is fairly sheer, so quite young. They sell it in SpaceNK - if you can get to a store they should be able to advise you about specific sensitive stuff.

Bare Minerals do eye shadows and lip things - they might be better for sensitive skin because they are more natural?

Have you checked out the Une range at Superdrug and some big Boots stores? I've got a couple of their lippies and I really like them. Packaging isn't super glamorous like Benefit but it's good for sensitive skin and it's more affordable. They've usually got a 3 for 2 offer on so you could get her a lippy (they do a nice sort of tinted lip balm that looks like a lipstick), some eyeshadow and a liner or mascara or something. All quite nude natural colours.

Try LilyLolo. The eyeshadows and lip glosses are good for teenagers and can be ordered online.failing that my 12 year old loves Poppy King lip gloss -but it is quite expensive.I think at this age they just do their eyes and lips-so lots of mascara/eyeliner and lip balm are good.Burts Bees also do tinted lip balms which are very popular with teenagers.

Stila is a good brand, as is Pixi

The Pixi ultimate beauty kit for £20 is a huge bargain.

I''d 2nd Boots 17- Boots quality is usually good and they have all kinds of Xmas kits etc.
