Having a big party next week and already panicking about sweat mark that I can't do anything about. Does any of you have a similar problem or even better, a solution? I've tried antiperspirant but they don't really help me to stay dry ( as they say they would)

unna · 09/12/2011 21:47

Botox - my sister had it done and swears its changed her life!

3cutedarlings · 09/12/2011 21:54

Try Anhydrol forte you have to buy it over the counter at the chemist and it can make you a little sore it you have sensitive skin, but i guarantee you that you will have no have any sweat marks what so ever!! it works for about a month or so depending on how active your sweat glands are. Smile

tanfastic · 09/12/2011 21:56

You can get a roll on from the chemist that you apply a few days before and it blocks the sweat glands. I think from memory it's called Anhdrol Forte (or something like that). I was prescribed it for my sweaty hands but it wasn't that effective but I would imagine it would be more effective for underarms. I ended up having surgery to cure my sweat problem. I've heard Botox is a good temporary solution.

Akiram · 09/12/2011 22:02

I also recommend Anhydrol Forte. Fab stuff. No sweat marks at all. Think its about £5 from the chemist.

Sibling4 · 09/12/2011 22:04

Or driclor. In boots etc by normal deodorants but lower down

Make sure your underarms are dry before use because it stings like buggary if they aren't

unna · 09/12/2011 22:05

I'll try.... my problem is that I'm thinking too much about that . If you block it from coming out than it stays in your body. It can't be ok.....

No idea unna. i would think it would just come out else where Confused!?! i can assure you that i have used it for years (and so has my DM) and ive had no ill effects.

moragbellingham · 09/12/2011 22:14

I think IMO I have tried a few - in a a tier of effectiveness
Mitchum 48 hr for minimal then
Anhydrol forte stuff (powerful) but I stopped when pregnant
Sure (the £5 cream) is my staple but....
for anything that's not helped by the above, go to GP and ask about the botox as a last resort.

unna · 09/12/2011 22:20

Thank you all

I have the same problem, tried so many antiprespirants-unfortunately none of them worked for me...just started using some underarm pads and so far they've been good!

bethelbeth · 10/12/2011 00:14

Perspirex is pretty hardcore. I'd use it for a few days before the event to get used to it.
Amazing stuff!

unna · 11/12/2011 10:38

I heard of underarm pads, do they stay attached to clothes or they fall in the middle of conversation leaving you with a blushes?

OP posts:
whyme2 · 11/12/2011 10:48

I use the Sure £5 cream which is effective for me and doesn't feel too harsh on the skin.

hermioneweasley · 11/12/2011 10:55

I use sweatex disposable pads in my shirts etc and they're brilliant. On the rare occasions they don't stick to the fabric you know straight away so no embarrassing falling out.

KateShmate · 11/12/2011 11:08

Anhydrol Forte is brilliant - was prescribed it from GP.
You roll it on before you go to bed - occasionally it stains certain fabrics, so wear a vest or something.
One word of warning - do NOT shave your armpits before putting the stuff on.. within a few minutes you'll be clawing at your pits - it bloody kills!
Is amazing stuff though :)

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 11/12/2011 11:15

Yes to Driclor / Anhydrol - both v similar. They are the only thing that works for me. Normal antiperspirants, yes even Mitchum don't touch it. Persevere through the initial stingy bit because that improves. I use it once a week in the winter and twice a week in summer and it's fab!

ninana · 11/12/2011 11:56

I use Nonchalante underarm pads and they're fantastic, I'm not too keen on deodorant, only problem with a pads is that they're not available in shops so you have to wait a few days for delivery.....

PattySimcox · 11/12/2011 17:46

My friend advised using men's 48 hour deodorant as it is designed to be much more heavy duty cos they are sweaty smelly beggars

Worked much better than Mitchum and Sure etc

unna · 13/12/2011 19:36

I've checked Sweatex but I think that they are based in the US, so I went for the Nonchalante, they promised next day delivery and free shiping. Let's see....

This is such a coincidence! While I was chasing some hand cream related informations, this thread managed to catch my eye....and all beacause a month or so ago I was complaining to my pharmacist (TW10 area) about the same problem and he did show me this Nonchalante pads that he was promoting at the time and gave me a few samples. I can't reccomend them enough, excellent value for money, soft, "non existent"...you name it. To find them on Amazon was even better discovery!

tryingtoleave · 14/12/2011 12:45

I did not know sweat pads existed. I have been known to stick a pantyliner in my shirt.

ninana · 14/12/2011 14:22

I've used pantyliners once and they fell off in the middle of the presentation. lol

unna · 15/12/2011 17:21

Received Nonchalante today and already managed to waste first pair due to mu clumsiness but second pair fits perfectly. They look reliable. Thank you all for the advices..
