Tiffany diamonds- are they worth it?

I am looking for a half eternity diamond ring and have seen a lovely one on the Tiffany webiste- but are they over priced?

If they are do you have any recommendations for modern -ish styles and i can easily get to London.

I have look ed at both Blue Nile and Cool Diamods and there's nothing I like.

Budget is £2K-£3k

I want to get rid of my yellow gold wedding ring and engagement ring- and replace with just one ring, in white gold or platinum.

I would go for quality every time and look at it as an investment. The quality of the diamonds is key - you want them to sparkle forever, not look dull or glassy. The rings you linked to are both lovely imo.

I think a single eternity ring on your ring finger is very elegant. I recently invested in a half eternity ring (princess cut diamonds set in platinum) and now wear that with my engagement ring and no longer wear my wedding band. I was very lucky though and have a wonderful friend who works for a Bond St jeweller who had it made for me and did me a very special deal.

Remember to get it polished regularly - I just had my engagement ring polished as the new ring was showing it up a bit and it now looks stunning again.

How do you know you are getting good clarity, cut, carat in a diamond, do you get a certificate?

The jeweller could tell you anything if you have no clue about diamonds!

I have two celebration rings and love them both
you can add to them and make different stacks. I love my tiffany rings even though I know the branding adds lots more to the price.

I have a Tiffany engagement ring and wedding ring, and they are gorgeous. I would definitely say the diamonds are better quality than comparable diamonds I have from hatton garden and diamond row in NYC.

OP I have an engagement ring, wedding ring and eternity ring from M&W.

I have lost 2 diamonds from the eternity ring since I was given it by DH 2 years ago. They have been really good about replacing it and have done it for free both times, turned out that the one I had the claws weren't built up enough or something, it is all fixed now and looks great.

I realise that isn't the greatest recommendation of them, but the rings are gorgeous and the customer service has been pretty good.

I want baguettes and was comparing this with the Tiffany rings.

I think I prefer white gold to platinum, but if I am going towear it all day every day, maybe platinum will be tougher?

also- do you keep your eternity rings on when washing up, etc etc? i want it to be the same as a wedding ring, IYSWIM.

The only factors of any relevance are the carat, colour, cut and purity of the diamond, You can google the scales for purity and colour so that you will understand the quality of what is being shown to you. A Tiffany's VS1, F, two carat diamond will be no better than anybody else's VS1, F, two carat diamond. If you are willing to pay the extra for a Tiffany's setting and a Tiffany's box, then that is up to you; but you should be aware that the diamond is no better than a comparable diamond from elsewhere.

There's virtually nothing which can damage a diamond, so you should be fine with the washing up; but you should discuss the setting with the jeweller to make sure that yours will be robust

I would never buy retail diamonds. If you ask around for a reputable dealer in Hatton Garden, probably not someone in a shop but someone who supplies the high end stores, you will be able to pick your stones and get far more for your money and wnt have to cmpromise on quality.They will either have a setter or will be able to recommend someone good to work with you to make the ring to your design or they will make suggestions to you. I have really stunning top quality engagement and eternity rings which are worth about 200 percent more than we paid for them.

I think an eternity ring isn't quite as hard wearing as an engagement ring, but I do wear it to do washing up but take it off for gardening or anything else manual.
