Can I set you a 4 week post cs/bfing wedding outfit challenge?

My two younger brothers are getting married in April next year, I'm due our 3rd mid-March. It'll be an elcs, I'm hoping to be bfing and the weddings are 4 weeks after the cs and then another 10 days after that.

Apart from all the other stuff to get my head around, I'd like an outfit that ideally I can wear to both but accessorize differently so it doesn't look identical. It always needs to have easy boob access for near-constant feeding newborn and can't have anything tight/waistband-ish over where the cs scar will be.

I can't think of what on earth I could wear, budget would be £100 max. Any suggestions will be most gratefully received!

I would have a look for a simple wrap dress.

HugosGoatee · 01/12/2011 13:01

Watching as I am going to a wedding in Jan and will also be 4 wks post-cs and bf-ing Smile

What size are you / do you expect to be?

Chulita · 01/12/2011 13:26

10-12 usually, 5ft 3 but obviously won't be anywhere near that in March!

I was thinking of a wrap dress with a pashmina or something, I'm a jeans/t-shirt person normally so this is a bit beyond me.

Good luck hugos, let me know if you find something!

Was in a similar position to you and bought a dress from mamanana.com

Very stylish and flattering.

I bought mine just after I had ds but I really wish I had bought it before as all the dresses are maternity as well as breastfeeding. So if you get it now you will really get your money's worth.

Also, decent maternity wear sells for almost as much as you pay for it new on eBay! (just a tip for when you've finished with itGrin)

I would also go for a wrap dress as it will not matter if you are not your prepregnancy weight . Your scar will be really low down on your bikini line so the only thing that might bother you is tight knickers :). I would buy some nice accesories and different shawls or cardigans to ring the changes. Failing that i would just buy two cheaper dresses so that you have two completely different outfits so that when you have the family photos you have a different look. Good luck with your search.

Tiffany Rose dresses are gorgeous but £££! Am hoping there'll be a sale after Xmas.

I like this wrap dress or this one more pricey though.

Or Isabella Oliver for a basic wrap dress ? I don't have enough boobage to wear wrap dresses myself but that could change when bf-ing I guess Grin here's one with ruffles .

How about maxi dresses? Isabella O again

Chulita · 01/12/2011 14:06

wow, I'd never heard of mamanana but they've got some lovely stuff!

That purple knot dress is also definitely the sort of thing I'm after.

Thanks to both of you :)

Ooh this is gorgeous and 60% off but sold out in smaller sizes. Boo. I'm usually a 10, probably nearer a 14 ATM but of course I will ping back into shape within 4 weeks of birth, as will you Wink

Chulita · 01/12/2011 14:10

home I've had two emcs and found that even though the scar is low, the tingly numbness on my massive belly is really uncomfortable when something's resting on it. Might be different this time but was thinking of avoiding small waistbands although would be happy with a good wide slightly flattening one Grin

Ha hugos I pinged back after DD and failed miserably after DS so no hope for me this time Grin (especially with all the christmas treats I've been shovelling down Blush )

Then I would def wear a jersey wrap dress. First ds I was in jeans by six weeks, I had emc with my second and by my third who was a vbac it took me ages to get back to a pregnant size and my rib cage never has been the same :( so I know where you are coming from. One solution is to ask for a tummy tuck when they do the c section , I am sure they will oblige :) :) ( only joking) . On a serious note if you wait til the sales you might be able to get a few more bargains.

Hi google mamalicious on asos got a black nursing jersey dress which was only a tenner in the sale and easily accessorised with different colours/ Pashmina for cover up!
