I need a bag for my head

I've got very sensitive skin and I'm prone to bouts of psoriasis. To make it even more special, I only get it on my face and scalp.

It always flares up at this time of year, due to the extremes of heating and then the cold
outside. It's suddenly flared up and it's really bad. Not only is it red, sore and flaky but very obvious, and I feel like hiding away!

The steroid cream from the docs isn't helping, nor are any of the other potions I use. Can anyone recommend anything I could get over the counter? Not much time to visit the GP.

I know absolutely nothing about psoriasis but am prone to bouts of fetching perioral dermatitis (I basically look like I have been at the strawberry jam too much) My skin has been a whole lot better since I started doing the oil cleansing method---if you've never heard of it, do a search on here, there are a few threads on it. I feel your pain with that nasty flaky redness

I would start with the cheapest and work my way up. Have you tried just plain Vaseline? And instead of washing or cleansing use sensitive facial wet wipes.
Also, everyone I know recommends chiropractor for just about everything! i've never been but might be worth a try?

I have tried loads of stuff over the years. I've had this since I was about 12, so over 20 years now (Jesus!).

I read on here the other day that zinc helps so I've got some multivitamins with it in. Will give it a go.

If I didn't have the DC I wouldn't have left the house today which sounds very vain but it looks awful and makes me feel terrible. Not that I'm a 'stunna' normally Grin

Must be very difficult for you SadBrew

Thanks, feel a bit silly about it. Not the end of the world I know! It usually clears up in a few days.

I'll just have to get a bell.Grin

I get similar at this time of the year- also get it in my armpits and on hands. Lovely as you can imagine.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is a spray called 'Salcura' Intensive. I have to say that for me this has been a miracle lotion. As a tip I also use it for a little while after a flare up has gone. It's also totally natural which is a huge plus for as am fed up using steroid creams!:

You can order it at Boots at the pharmacy section if you don't want to order online. Hope it works for you- can't tell you the relief it's brought me.
