I need a change and wondered about giving them a go! Can you recommend anything? I'm flying on Friday night so I thought I might check out the duty free shop! Smile

clarins products are fabulous. you should go to a consultation in a store before you decide which products to buy - their advice is really very good. Once you know which are most suitable you can then go down the duty free route.

I love clarins. And am thrilled to see advice from ww is same as I always bang in to people - use the toner!

But will admit I don't like the treatments as much. Body lotions, day to day stuff etc all brilliant.

I was given a HUGE set of Clarins last year - it had the lot in from a very generous family member BUT I find the smell so strong, the night cream actually keeps me awake at night.

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 11:36

The smell is the ingredients, no fragrance at all. It's the plant extracts, try a different night cream.

Absolutely try the vital light serum. Super restorative is very nourishing and feeding for the skin. It literally restores the skin as with age, this process can be slowed down.
Vital light I more active. The serum hydrates and firms the skin BUT it also evens out pigmentation, takes any redness out of the skin and fades dark spots. It's truly amazing. So by putting it under the day cream, you will be boosting the results of the moisturiser (a serum can penetrate the skin further and take the moisturiser down there with it!) and get the added benefits from the serum so your skin will look glowing, firmer and even. Get a sample!

On the back of this thread I went to see a really lovely and very helpful Clarins consultant in Liverpool St Boots this morning. She really took her time going through the options, I told her in advance that I wouldn't be buying anything there and then as I want to get some new skincare for Christmas so just wanted to ask for advice and pass on to relatives. She was fab-and she gave me some free samples to try. Will definitely be going back to her to part with my cash!

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 12:50

I'm in Newcastle, but as jumping says we're all trained really well and often "checked up on" to make sure our service and advice is 100%, I cannot stress enough there is no obligation to buy, as jumping says, we give the advice and hope you come back when you do want to buy. I would say 85% of people come back. The product works. I know Andre people in the company though, what area are you based in?

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 12:50

A few*

Kellamity · 29/11/2011 12:59

I am in Wiltshire, I shop in Swindon, Bath & Bristol.

Ahhh! My neck of the woods originally, I'm from Cardiff. Trained with a girl who worked in the new Debenhans in bath, she was nice. But I would go to Bristol. Cabbots are high turnover stores so the staff will be more on the ball. House of Fraser Cabbots is a big account

FunnysInTheGarden · 29/11/2011 13:46

I love Clarins too and have used it for 15 years at least. It absorbs so easily and smells lovely

Kellamity · 29/11/2011 13:49

Thanks 2ww

Wow I don't think I've ever come across a product/brand with so much support and so little negativity - esp on here!

Thats good to know! I just wanna dispell the myth that we sales assistant are stupid and only in retail coz we can't do anything else. I'm proud of what I do. We don't force people to buy, we're not pushy, we're not think. We can help you and were nice! Honest!
Now I'd there's any hairdressers on here? I'm pregnant and my hair is lovely and thick and wonderful and I want to keep it like this forever!!!

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 14:13

Not doing much to dispell the myth with my spelling! On an iPhone sorry!

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 14:16

Ooooh last tip! You bought online so you might no know, use a 5p size amount and rub your hands together to heat the product. Then pat on to your skin. The heat stretches the product and by patting it on you won't over stimulate. Theres also the suction clense to maximise your clenser. Go instore and ask them to show you. It doesn't take 2 mins

polyhymnia · 29/11/2011 14:27

Thanks, 2ww - would you recommend I give the Vital Light night or day cream a go too when my Super Restoratives run out? (Have to say don't know when this will be, as I get so many good-sized give-aways of even these higher-priced products in your wonderful promotions!)

Btw, as noone has mentioned them yet, must say how fab the hand cream and the foot cream are too.

montmartre · 29/11/2011 14:31

I've used clarins for years, since I lived in France (where prices were a bit more reasonable!).

I love their products- in winter their moisturiser really is the best one for my sensitive skin that gets very dried out.

I use multi-active day cream now, but I preferred eclat du jour before they stopped it

I like the bust gel and lotion too (again, no marks through pg here), the cleanser (don't know name sorry- it's pale green, mountain herbs or something), BFB is good, and I absolutely love the hand cream- it's one of the few that doesn't bring me out in a rash.

The assistants are lovely- I am a bit wary of beauty sales staff usually, as I am a bit scruffy looking bohemian, but they are unfailingly polite and helpful, and never pushy. In fact most recently when I was buying some, they went out of their way to give me products in the christmas packs (that cost the same as product on their own, but come with several small sized products too) meaning I got more for my money.

FunnysInTheGarden · 29/11/2011 14:36

oh yes, also love the hand creams. I have run out of Clarins hand cream and so for the last couple of days have been using something else (reasonably pricey organic nonsense). Today I vowed to get more Clarins after the other one left my hands all sticky and horrid.

2wwmadness · 29/11/2011 14:51

Yes. Switch your day cream but maybe stick with super r night cream of you like the nourishment. The queen uses Clarins! Exciting things happening next year for the jubilee!
