Do you still use your Babyliss Big Hair?

There was a huge fad for them on here a few months ago (?maybe 6 or 7) and I considered getting one but as I was about to go maternity leave, and so money was tight, and I decided against it.

But my hair seems to have all fallen out post-baby Sad... And so in a desperate bid to make it look a bit better I'm planning to get my rubbishy, limp and quite long hair cut to about my shoulders or into a bob (if said baby lets me away from him for that long...), So with Christmas coming up I thought I could ask for a BBH, and maybe my last few strands of hair wouldn't be quite so, well, limp and rubbish.

So I wondered if people still used their Babyliss Big Hair and would you still recommend it?

no

kerstina · 26/11/2011 15:09

Yes I still use mine but just if I am making more of an effort not all the time as I like to leave it to dry naturally.
I got mine for xmas last year when there was all the hype on here about it .
It is easier to use than trying to blow dry your hair straight with a round brush and hair dryer.

Vicky08 · 26/11/2011 15:53

Yes I use mine all the time. When you get the hang of it it's great.

thomasbodley · 26/11/2011 15:58

I went a bit mad with mine and used it every day.

I spent a small fortune on Kerastase, Moroccan Oil, Amargan, Argan and all that jazz, but I still fried my hair. Had to get six inches cut off to rescue the condition.

And no matter how hard you try, you still yank out a good many hairs every time you use it. I worried I'd go bald if I wasn't careful.

Now I save it for special occasions.

If your hair is delicate at the moment I'd steer well clear.

I use it everyday.

I blast with the hair dryer, then section it and do each section with BBH, then finish it off with ghds.

I couldn't live without mine.

I use it almost everyday - and quite a lot of people have commented on my swishy hair Smile

WipsGlitter · 26/11/2011 16:28

Every day! Still love it. You might want to get your thyroid checked as excessive post partum hair loss can be caused by an imbalance.

alemci · 26/11/2011 16:28

yes I find it very quick and convenient.

BlastOff · 26/11/2011 17:33

Oh thomasb that really puts me off actually. I can't afford to lose any more hair!

Thank you all for all your replies, and Wips I will look into getting my thyroid checked as I've definitely lost way more hair than I did with my first ds.

I want swishy hair like MissBeehiving Envy

I use mine every couple of days. I have not noticed any increased hair loss. I am still getting great smooth and sleek hair....

ajandjjmum · 26/11/2011 17:42

I found mind just left my hair whispy and without style at all. I get a better result with tongs. I am crap with hair though!!

thomasbodley · 26/11/2011 17:45

Could you perhaps try a friend's before you buy?

Along with the thyroid test, have a check to see if you're anaemic. Perhaps take Spa-tone for a month or two. I swear by it - I hate red meat and it's a lifesaver keeping my iron levels up.

batsforlashes · 27/11/2011 03:43

Yes- I didn't use it for about 6 months but we have moved to a city where the cost of a salon blow dry is ridiculous so I had to give up that habit. I have also spent a fortune on Moroccan Oil and Redken stuff. I find it is almost as good as a salon blow dry but doesn't last near as long.
