Post pregnancy clothes

dd is 10 weeks old. Now I am coming out of the fog of sleep deprivation I have realised I have no clothes that fit. I am a long way from fitting in my pre pregnancy clothes, my jeans won't go over my expanded hips and bum, and my tops will go on but look horrible with a wobbly belly!
What did you do in this situation? Don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe as I'm hoping to lose the baby weight at some point. I need some cheap basic 'wear anywhere' clothes that I don't feel hideous in! Any recommendations?

You are right that a few things will perk you up whilst the baby weight goes. How about a pair of indigo or black jeans - perhaps straight leg or skinny flare. Both flattering cuts. Not sure what your definition of 'cheap' is, but Gap do great long and lean jeans (£50) or alternatively New Look have a good jeans range at nearer £20. Perhaps a couple of dress - tea dresses are quite flattering and you can wear with biker/flat boots for casual, or dress up. You also need a few flattering tops, and I would go to Primarni, H and M or New Look and have a try of a few things there. It really depends on how much you need to lose, and how quickly you are losing it at the moment, because if you think it will be gone in 2 months you really don't want to spend much - but if it is nearer a year then it will be worth spending slightly more, obviously!

Not yummy has some good tips but I liked gap curvy jeans for that phase as flattering on bigger bum And hips.

I would get yourself to Primark and stock up on some temporary clothes in a size that fits you now - if you go for baggy tunic dresses then you can wear in different ways - shoes/boots/cardi/jacket etc

Buy a few items you know you can mix and match for different looks

I'm in the same situation - DD is 3 weeks and we're going shopping today! I'm still wearing the long Primark £2 vests that I wore throughout pregnancy. I've bought a couple of short skirts in a bigger size that I can wear over leggings, and I'm going to look for a pair of skinny jeans and a couple of cardigans, as they are much easier for BF, and can be worn over a sling.

What about a nice wrap dress, or two? They are great because they kind of expand and contract to adapt to changes in your body, and because you'll be able to keep wearing them as you 'lose the baby weight', you could justify spending a bit more on them. To be honest, i would've been a bit depressed shopping in Primark etc when not feeling my figure was at it's best - but i am of the 'buy one decent thing rather than five cheaper things' school of thought. Not sure if wrap dresses work for BF-ing though, if that's a consideration?

I took myself off to new look today (had 20% off voucher) and bought leggings, long jumper dress, tea dress, and jeans all for the bargain price of £33! Not tried anything on yet, dd keeping me too busy, but I'm hopeful it will look ok.
Might head to h&m at the weekend and try and get a few more bits - jut have to get used to the fact that I'm going to be a bigger size for a while.
I like the idea of a wrap dress and have tried on lots over the years - they all looked a bit odd due to my lack of cleavage - maybe I will finally suit them now my boobs have doubled in size!

I do find primark a bit depressing - I think I would probably be a bit more enthusiastic about the clothes if they weren't displayed like a jumble sale
