Not to my taste (I'll stick to my battered Mulberry)

Somtimes I can look at a £££ handbag and just think you could get the same sort of thing in New Look.

HalfTermHero · 23/11/2011 17:18

Beautiful bag. I like it in the nut, it is a pretty neutral colour so will go with just about anything. No real danger of looking like a pensioner with it on your arm!

meltedchocolate · 23/11/2011 17:52

I really don't like the bag but lucky you for having such a loaded family generous husband OP!! :o

suebfg · 23/11/2011 21:37

Lovely bag. I used to like designer handbags but I have other priorities now - enjoy :)

madammecholet · 23/11/2011 22:09

I agree polyhmnia I think this is a wind up....well done OP..Grin

madammecholet · 23/11/2011 22:11

PS - Just as a technical note, I saw the Chloe Marcie in use today and boy it really did mush into a sack of potatoes when worn on the long across body strap.. Looked dreadful..Sad

polyhymnia · 23/11/2011 22:58

madame, I'm afraid that was just my (maybe unworthy) thought - particularly when it became 'hubs'. My reaction was: who actually says that except in a Mike Leigh film? But then I thought perhaps I was just being mean/ out of date and loads of people happily call their DH that ...

pantaloons · 23/11/2011 23:04

tbh I'm fairly jealous of bibbity's chocolate bowl, although she spoiled it somewhat with Quality Street. Surely all the best people eat Heroes!?!?

You try to stick to the husband that your husband gives you? Shock

ShowOfHands · 24/11/2011 09:37

Mediocre bag? £1k

Never having met in 30 blissful years on planet earth anybody who uses the terms 'hubby' or 'hubs'? Priceless.

Jessicaalbastwin · 24/11/2011 09:55

This thread is making me laugh, its turned from the bag to husband, hubs or whatever you call your husband.Grin
I always call him husband or oh.

SilkStalkings · 24/11/2011 12:56

I see people use Hubby on FB - makes me want to unfriend themBlush but they are usually local schoolmums so would be awkward in the playground. It does make me cringe.

pictish · 24/11/2011 13:01

I say hubby. Always have. What's the big deal?

Pancakeflipper · 24/11/2011 13:05

I sometimes call my DP hubby. And we were not even married.

Am I wrong for naffness or cos' I cannot always be arsed to explain we are not hitched? Or both.

I so want to like handbags... I really try. But then I wince and the moment is gone... I have a £70.00 one from BOO. It's my first ever handbag and I bought it for my birthday ( from money I got given from relatives). It's nice but I don't love it.

SilkStalkings · 24/11/2011 13:06

Naffness. Like calling your baby Bubs. Sorry.

Pancakeflipper · 24/11/2011 13:08

Oh no Silkstalking - you are so wrong "hun", hubby is no way near as naff as Bubs.

pictish · 24/11/2011 13:08

Mmm...well I don't think 'hubby' is so bad. Tis a commonly used term round these parts.

BadTasteFlump · 24/11/2011 13:13

Very nice if that's your thing. I'm not really into handbags - I only have about 3 that I switch around. However I have about 30 pairs of 'current' boots and will never have enough Grin

Anyway I digress - I was just wondering why OP's H told her what he was getting her for Christmas anyway? Isn't the surprise the best bit? Confused

NeedHelpPlease · 24/11/2011 16:31

Hubby is a bit 70s sitcom for my liking. However, as I have neither husband nor partner, it's not really my problem Smile

meltedchocolate · 24/11/2011 19:44

All the local young married mums that I know call their husbands 'hubby'
