Talk to me about wedding rings.....

I'm a health professional so when I got married I had two wedding rings, one with tiny diamonds in it (cant wear rings with stones to work with patients due to cross infection) and plain court shaped ring. Both were 18ct white gold (and cost less together than dhs ring which he never wears)

But now I'm having an eternity ring so I want to have the two rings smelted and re-made into one ring with no stones that can be shaped around my engagement ring.

Have anyone else had this done? will I have to sit down when they tell me the cost?

A friend of mine had her gold engagement ring redone in platinum, she used the diamond in it, if that makes sense?
She paid about £500 this was about 10 years ago.

I have just had a triple band Russian wedding ring made- one white gold band, one yellow gold, one rose gold.

Could they twist your rings together? I am a nurse albeit a Psychiatric one but i often have to do wound care and i just ensure I absolutely scrub my ring finger. I can remove mine though and do. I'm no lover of jewellery in a healthcare area anyway.

No, it has to be a plain band to counteract the eternity ring and engagement ring. I'm a podiatrist so the only jewellery I wear is my wedding ring, no watch or earrings. I dont like it when other professionals wear their engagement rings to work either, but thats for the managers to deal with really.

One ring has tiny diamonds in it so it couldnt be worn to work at all.
